Week 1 – Class 1 - Unit 1 THE REAL YOU (1A, 1B)

Time Activities

20’ Ice-breaker

At least 2 numbers!

20’ – Introduction (Objectives, assessment)

– Mid-term: 40%

+ Group presentation: 20%

Let Ss choose to work in group of 5. Each group vote for a chairperson.

Each group chooses one topic and makes presentation in 30 minutes. Presentation includes giving information about the topic and activities for the whole class (readings, making conversations, quiz, etc.). Each member of the group must hold at least one session of the group presentation.

All groups must hand in their outline for presentation 2 days before the class. T will give you some useful advice or ideas for the presentation.

Print out presentation evaluation form with names of group members for the T on the day of presentation.

+ Writing portfolio: 20%

Each student needs to complete a writing task on a worksheet every week and hand it in on every Saturday to receive your friend’s feedback. T will also give feedback to a few writings. You will have 15 mins every Saturday class to give and receive feedback.

After that, you need to rewrite your writing based on feedback you receive. Keep all of your writing in a folder. On every Tuesday, T randomly calls a few students to check your work so remember to bring your folder with you. Your score will be based on your final writings and how you improve your drafts with feedback.

You will receive guidelines for editing as well as error correction key through email.

– Ss work in pairs; find out 2 adjectives describing their own personalities.
