GEN-X Series Elegant Range - Engineering Data

Ceiling Return Duct

Ceiling return duct comprises unit matched panels lined with 25mm thick insulation bolted to the top of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit on site. The duct is suitable for downfl ow units only. Information on the height between the top of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit and the underside of the suspended ceiling is needed when ordering. The overall height of the duct will be this dimension plus 50mm.

Horizontal Discharge Section (Upfl ow Models Only)

Horizontal discharge section consists of a double defl ection grille fi tted into a rigid sheet metal box. The complete assembly is bolted to the top of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit on site. The grille has two sets of blades, which allow for both vertical and horizontal directional adjustment of airfl ow. The standard height for this section is 500mm.

Ceiling Discharge Section

For upfl ow units, where the Precision Air Conditioning Unit is required to discharge into the ceiling void, a Ceiling Discharge Extension is available. This consists of a rigid riveted sheet metal assembly comprising of unit matched front; rear and end panels lined with 25mm thick insulation. The extension is bolted to the top of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit on site. Information on height between the top of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit and the underside of the suspended ceiling is needed when ordering. The overall height of the duct will be this dimension plus 50mm.

High Effi ciency Filters

High effi ciency fi lters can be provided in place of the standard fi lters, with an effi ciency of 80% ASHRAE52/76 (Eurovent F7). These fi lters are fi tted in the return air side of the Precision Air Conditioning Unit within the main cabinett.

Serviceable Type Humidifi er

The life of a humidifi er bottle is considered over when the build up of solid coats the electrodes such that full current levels can no longer be achieved. A serviceable system can reuse the humidifi er bottle, thereby dramatically increases the service life of the cylinder and hence provides much reduced maintenance costs, particularly in areas where the available water supply is a limitation.

L.P.H.W. Heating

Units may be fi tted with a Low Pressure Hot Water heating coil in place of the standard electrical heating. A modulating 2 way valve controls water fl ow through the coil.

Duties of these coils are nominally the same as standard electric heating, based on fl ow and return hot water temperatures of 82ºC and 71ºC respectively.

Note: Please consult factory before ordering.

Water Detection Kit

Water sensors, connected directly to the Precision Air Conditioning Unit microprocessor control system, are located in:-

• Condensate drain pan – detecting undue water level.

• Underfl oor water tape, supplied loose with suffi cient length of cable to cover the entire length of the respective unit.

When water is detected, the Precision Air Conditioning Unit’s alarm system is triggered and it shall stop the unit operation (selectable option).

Sump Pump

Where, due to location, it is not possible to gravity drain units, a sump pump can be fi tted to collect any condensate and pump it to the nearest convenient drain point (maximum available pump head 5.7 meters). For units fi tted with humidifi ers, a larger capacity sump pump is available to accommodate the additional discharge of hot water during humidifi er drain down cycles (maximum available pump head 7 meters).

Note: When using sump pump a minimum of a 200mm high plinth is required.

EC Fan

The Electronically Commutated Fan (EC Fan) is the state of the art high effi ciency direct driven backward curved fan with integrated variable speed control capability. EC fans enable fl exible air volume control with highest effi ciency operation. In addition, power consumption of EC fan is much lower than conventional AC fan and more reliable. In auto mode, fan speed will adjust accordingly to suit room’s cooling load, thereby providing further energy saving.

Differential Pressure Transmitter

The transmitter is used to detect the pressure difference between the room and the underfl oor. This option is usually used together with the frequency inverter or variable speed fan, to maintain a constant pressure difference between the room and the underfl oor.

Remote Control and Supervisory Systems

Note: For more detailed information, refer to separate - “Engineering Data - Genius Controller”.

The Control & Supervisory System is required to develop a balanced function between economics, operating costs, safety and comfort with human considerations being most important.

• Webgate

Webgate is an innovative electronic device that measures the same size as a normal desktop modem. It can connect the Genius controller to a local network based on the standard Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol.

• pCOWEB

pCOWEB is an add-on card that allows communication between the Genius controller with BACnet Ethernet, BACnet over IP, SNMP protocol (v1 & v2c), HTTP protocol, FTP and DHCP protocol.

• pCONET

pCONET is an add-on card that allows communication with the BACnet MS/TP protocol.

• Telemon

Telemon designed to proactively monitor and control Precision Air Conditioning Units in a critical environment. It monitors and changes the parameters of a precision air conditioning unit such as temperature, humidity, cooling & heating demands, rotation confi guration and time control.

• PlantVisor

Plantvisor, with its web server function, can work on PCs connected in an TCP/IP network. This allows sharing the data and information dealt with by the plantvisor with more than one user at the same time.

• RS485 Serial Card

This is an add-on card which allows the Genius controller to interface directly with a RS485 supervisory network.

• LonWorks Interface Card

This is an add-on card that allows the Genius controller to interface with LonWork network.

• PlantWatch Pro

PlantWatch PRO is a new solution for the supervision of Precision Air Conditioning installations, with the possibility to connect and control up to 100 units in a serial network. It comes with a colour LCD touch screen and practical easy to use menus that enables simple and convenient navigation by the users. In addition, its supervisory task can be performed without the use of a PC (although a PC can be connected if necessary), thus providing a perfect solution for environments that do not use a dedicated computer system for this purpose. For alerting purpose, alarm messages can be send via SMS, fax or e-mail.

Fan Speed Controller (Air Cooled System Only)

Use to maintain the condensing pressure and thus condensing temperature of the refrigerant system by modulating the fan speed of the outdoor air cooled condenser. This is to ensure that the condensing pressure does not drop below the operational limit of the compressor thereby damaging it. A pressure sensing probe is attached to the discharge line to measure the condensing pressure and send its reading to the controller which in turn gives a 0 to 10Vdc analogue signal to the FSC module to modulate the fan speed of the air cooled condenser.

Frequency Inverter

The purpose of the frequency inverter is to vary the fan speed of the unit by changing the frequency of the power supply to the fan. In auto mode, fan speed will adjust accordingly to suit room’s cooling load.

Split Units

The coil/fan section & the compressor section of the unit can be split into 2 separate sections to allow transportation / access to areas with limited space. All access panels could also be removed & packaged separately. The 2 sections & the panels could then be reassembled at site. All electrical cables crossing the 2 sections should also be reconnected at site. These cables are coiled in a tidy fashion for transit & will be labeled for easy identifi cation. For the pipework, some brazing work would be required at site. All piping will be solder type by default unless specifi ed otherwise. The 2 sections could also be placed & crated separately as an additional option.

Floor Sealing Plate (Upfl ow Models Only)

A sealing plate can be provided to seal the bottom section of the upfl ow models to prevent air from being bypassed through the bottom of the unit instead of from front grille. This would not be necessary if unit is sitting on a solid fl oor.

Water Flow Detection (Chilled Water System Only)

A differential pressure switch is used to detect the availability of water fl ow through the system. Alarm shall be activated when there is no water fl ow detected across the system.

GEN-X Series Elegant Range - Engineering Data

Water Temperature Sensor (Chilled Water and Water Cooled Systems Only)

The water temperature sensor is use for sensing the water in from the cooling water source and water out temperature reading from the unit.

Double Skin Panels

To reduce sound “break-out”, double skin panels are available. The standard double skin panel consist of standard 25mm class “O” insulation glued to the inside of the external panels which is sandwiched between external panel and a 1mm thick galzanised sheet. Double skin panels should preferably be specifi ed with Compression Locks because of their extra weight and to ensure tight closure.

Fire Alarm Relay

A 24Vdc relay is used to receive external signal 24Vdc, probably from fi re control panel. When the signal is received, unit shall stop operation.

Hot Gas Bypass (Air Cooled and Water Cooled Systems Only)

DX models can be fi tted with hot gas bypass compressor capacity control. This consists of a solenoid valve & a hot gas bypass valve located in between the discharge line & at a point after the EEV & before the coil inlet. A sensing line will be fi tted to the suction & the hot gas valve can be adjusted to bypass discharge gas accordingly to maintain the pressure at the suction line above the preset level.

Water Regulating Valve (Water Cooled Systems Only)

Used to maintain the condensing pressure and thus condensing temperature of the refrigerant system by modulating the amount of water fl ow into the water cooled condenser. This is to ensure that the condensing pressure does not drop below the operational limit of the compressor thereby damaging it. A pressure line from the valve is attached to the discharge line to sense the condensing pressure.

ANCILLARIES AND OPTIONS

Note: Please note that certain combinations of options are not available while some other combinations might require further upgrades or additional accessories to be added. To check whether a certain combination of options is available, please consult factory.
