Hear ye! Hear ye! Istyar and denizens of the Arda Sindaril, the time hascome to announce some joyous news. As many of you know,
have a squire, Amanda, who has been living in the Ard Sindaril for quite some time. She asked me to be her Nostar, and we set about training immediately, but while she wascertain of a few things about her future as an Istyar, a name
wasn’t quick in coming. I petitioned the Oracle, but without Blueanon of the
Great Star Wheel to help interpret it’s mysterious signs and portents, the names it offered were lost to the wind. Casting stones, consulting ancient tomes, and even asking my aviancompanions all offered the same result: nothing. Then what, you might ask, do I have to announce to you?
A name, of course, but not one I came across. This one wa offered by a creature of the night, and comes with a story. One night, one of my owl companions, Edrick, was
hunting in the woods near the Rusty Dragon Tavern when he spotted something moving in the tall grass below. He swooped down lower, and, using his keen eyesight, noticed
field mouse dart under a pile of brush. Circling back around he watched the pile, noticing it move he looked for the mouse to emerge, and as it did, he began his dive, extending his claw to catch his prey.

Edrick hooted loudly, but the cat simply looked up at him and smiled, the dead mouse now dangling in it’s mouth. Rising back into the sky, Edrick followed the feline
shadow to it’s resting place, and descended to berate the cat for stealing his prize. Once again, the cat smiled at the owl, but this time she offered part of the mouse. The owl and thecat shared a meal, and, being the talkative one that he was,
the owl shared everything he’d been thinking that night, including my predicament with Amanda’s name. The cat asked about Amanda, her personality, her
qualities, and she thought that Amanda sounded like someone who was quite catlike, but the cat agreed that she needed a suitable name. Edrick expected that the cat would present a
most wonderful name at this point, but she just sat up, licked her paws, and started to walk away. Edrick chased the cat down, repeatedly asking questions
but one last time the cat smiled at Edrick, and paused, “The girl is looking for a name, right? Well, you’ll never see me again, so she can have mine.” And like a whisper on the win
Edrick heard the following...
