GANGA SAGARA
BARUSimple Living in Krishna’s Abode
Simple Living High Thinking
in Krsna’s Abode
Devotee association is the main
problem for the practicing
devotees.
• Living with modern lifestyle
• Daily contact with materialist people
• Discussing mundane subjects most of the
time
• Thus we are subject to forget Krsna
Unfortunately
the mind says
“I am saved”
• I am chanting
• I am reading
• I am serving ….
• BUT… How long can we go on chanting,
reading and serving without proper
association???? That is still a BIG
question.
WILL WE BE ABLE TO CONTINUE
OUR DEVOTIONAL LIFE
IN THIS ENVIRONMENT?• Chant properly
Even if we can, what about our
children, the future generation?
• Will they be able to chant if they can’t even get
enough oxygen to breath?
• Will they be able to chant if they can’t even get
clean water to drink?
• Will they be able to chant if they can’t even get
proper food?
• If we think they will not be able to get, then
where is our JIVADOYA to every living being?
Visionaries
Real compassion means to everybody…
not only for the present society
but also for the future as well.
• Therefore, it is very clear that at the present moment, weare urgently in need of places for our devotees to takeshelter and take devotee association most of the timeand follow the lifestyle of simple living and high thinking.
• For these, we need a community where there will be onlydevotees as members of the community.
• To make a community, we need land, cows, etc.
• If devotees are living together and meet their needssufficiently then there will be less chance to getdistracted due to the association with non-devotees.
• When there are devotees, the discussion will tend to bemore focused on Krsna katha instead of business or anymundane discussions.
• In this way, we can concentrate more on our devotionallive and gradually qualify ourself to go back home, backto Godhead.
Re-establish Varnasrama
• It is Srila Prabhupada ’ s last desire to re-establishVaisnava community based on the system ofVarnasrama Dharma in order to save the world from thedisaster caused by the modern so-called advancementbut actually the cause of the destruction of the wholeworld.
• Srila Prabhupada has said that 50% of my missionremains incomplete.
• With this consideration, a few devotees have taken Srila
Prabhupada’s mission to establish the Vedic system of
living in order to give a chance for everybody to advance
in Krsna consciousness both at the present moment and
in the future, at least for the next ten thousand years.
Some examples are a few
Varnasrama projects in Indonesia
1. Gita Nagari Baru ( GNB ) - Sumatra
2. Ganga Sagara Baru (GSB)
3. Gaura Hari Village in Gianyar, Bali
Ganga Sagara Baru
(GSB)
• GSB is situated on one island in Indonesia called Kalimantan (also well known as Burneo island).
• It is a project with about 124 hectares ( 310 acres)
• The project was started in May 2003 with only 2 families.
• At the present moment there are three families takingcare of the land and they are fully self sufficient in food.
• They have Panca Tattva Deities Who were installed in2005. Each family takes turn to worship the deities daily.
• The morning and evening programs are compulsory forall the residents.

• The devotees in GSB are working hard starting fromcutting unwanted forest trees and making the land usefulfor agriculture. Since last 5 years, they have survivedonly on food produced from Krsna’s land and by themercy of the Lord. They are happy in their material aswell as their devotional life.
• No tension for monthly bill for electricity, etc., and arehappy in self sufficient lifestyle.
• The devotees are encouraging more and more devoteesto join and hoping by the mercy of the Lord, one daythere will be a community with at least 40 familymembers.
• This is just the beginning of Srila Prabhupda’s mission.
