FROM THE PRINCIPAL We are at the end of another busy term.
Over the last few weeks the students have been involved with the Crazy Hair fundraiser, craft mak-ing, cooking and gardening for the Rotary Market stall last week and finally lantern making for this weekends Lanterns in the Lagoon. I think both the students and staff deserve a well earned break!
A big thank you to the parents who made items and gave up their time for the market stall last Saturday and a special thank you to Karen Gold-spink for her donations of fresh produce which sold very quickly. The report on the Market Stall is on the following page.
School returns on Tuesday 8th October for all students. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday break.
Regards Moira Kingwill,
Principal

Rotary Market Stall
Last Saturday 12 September Gadara School had a stall at the local Rotary Markets. The stu-
dents and staff had been busy in their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) sessions
making craft items, planting cuttings and cooking cakes, biscuits and slices. Our market table
was laden with all their produce and craft items plus items that were sent in by parents, such as
cakes, lolly novelty items and sewing—beautiful tutus. A great supporter of the Kitchen and
Garden program, Karen Goldspink also sent along lots of fresh fruit and vegetables which were
snapped by the market goers. The stall raised $605 which will now go back into the SAKG
program next term.
Lanterns on the Lagoon
The students have been also busy making lanterns and then decorating the lanterns for the
Lanterns on the Lagoon. As you can see from the photos the students have enjoyed making the
lanterns, particularly the decorating. Please if you have nothing to do on Saturday wander down
to the lagoon and have a look at Gadara Schools lantern display.
