the first mobile phone 1979 - The first commercially

automated cellular network (aka 1G) is launched in Japan by NTT. Initially covering the full metro-Tokyo area

The Future of Cellular Phones

With the amazing features that cell phones have to offer today’s society, what will they have to offer in the future?

Cell phones, will offer more security services within the future that will make all of your transactions safer

There may be a Facebook, Nintendo or Amazon Phone

A carrier free iPhone might also be an option in the future.

The future is at the tip of your finger!

This theory explains cell phone use very well. There is a dependency between cell phone users and their devices.

This happens at multiple levels. (individual, organization and society)

These three levels can have a lot of goals met by using their cell phones. (social, interaction, action, orientation and play)

The word Television was first used in 1900 but it took more than 20 years for the first commercial sets to arrive.

The first TV’s were 'Mechanical Televisions' (or 'spinning Disc' tech).

The first wireless remote-controls were introduced in 1972

In 1997, Panasonic announced the first 'real' Plasma display

Television From Past to Present

Page 8: Future communication landscape

Today you can basically get television on any electronic device.

The most popular television is the plasma. Plasma’s come in many different sizes and shapes.

The price of the plasma television depends on the shape and size of the TV.

TVs are made in HD which makes the images more clear.

Future Televisions will all have 3D displays.

TV as we know it today will evolve into a multi-screen experience throughout your home.

You’ll have screens in any room you want them, any size you want them. They will be commanded by voice, and you’ll have a lot of viewing choices.

Social learning theory says that people learn by modeling others.

This can be done with televisions by seeing the type of and brand of TV they have, modeling what shows they watch and seeing how to watch and record shows on the DVR.

The word computer is from the Latin in 17th century.

The first general mechanical computer was called the Analytical Engine. It was created by Charles Babbage in 1837. He integrated an Arithmetic logic unit, flow control and memory.

In 1910, the portion that makes the computer perform basic calculations was added by Charles’s son, Henry

The first computer was made on February 15, 1946.

Computers from the Past to the Present

One of the most used and love computers through out the world would definitely have to be the MacBook Pro.

The MacBook offers a large variety of multi-media options, which allows for the users to explore the internet at high speeds, as well as use it’s many features for entertainment.

Not just College students use the MacBook. Many people all around the world use this as a main tool of success throughout their business or school work.

Laptops in general are very popular with all groups of people. They are portable and easy to use.

Current Computers

Page 13: Future communication landscape

There are many ways that you can think about the future for computers because no body really knows. However, as cellular technology continues to take off, the use of computers will be less.

Cell phones are now able to do anything and everything computers are allowed to do. Consequently, this is actually decreasing the use of computers in today’s society.

Nevertheless, it is believed that in the future all computers will be innovated into cellular devices because they are small, easy to carry, and easy to replace with insurance. The prices of these cellular devices will increase.

Computers of the Future

Page 14: Future communication landscape

With the emergence of computers in our time, a group of people had to be the first ones to start using computers. As they progressed more and more people have joined in and started using them in their everyday lives.

Computers have reached critical mass many times. First it was a desk top, then a laptop, and now its an iPad. Every time there is new technology, it takes awhile for it to catch on.

(Grant & Meadows, 2012)

Critical Mass Theory

Page 15: Future communication landscape

Technology has been the main thing that has changed throughout the years and it is going to continue to change. It started off with the inventions of electricity, light, telephones, televisions, and now computers. Who knows what's coming next? Many people say that technology is making communication bad for the children in the future, but some are saying that it’s a great thing for communicating in the future. At the end of the day it’s how you see it, what you believe and how you use it.
