10. Male of Osmia has long antennae.

11. Male of Osmia has two horns of male genitalia (brown coloration) on the top of abdomen.

12. Both species feed on nectar and pollen but Apis mellifera produces honey to overwinter as a honey bee colony.

Osmia bees produce neither honey nor beeswax.

13. Osmia sp. is solitary bee, it is not forming colony like Apis.

Every female is fertile and makes her own nest, and there are no worker bees for these species.

14. Osmia sp. lives in hollow stems, like to nest in narrow holes or tubes (tubular cavities), but Apis lives in a beehives or honeybee nests in a hollow tree (feral bees).

15. Apis, honey bees can heavily sting, but Osmia bees will only sting if squeezed or stepped on. Apis bee will die after sting. Osmia doesn't die after sting.
