GOD WANTS US TO GROW SPIRITUALLY

Page 2: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Let us bear fruits!

“walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10

Sabay-sabay nating sabihin:

“Lalakad ako ng nararapat sa Panginoon, sa buong ikalulugod Niya, at mamumunga ako sa bawa't gawang mabuti, at lalago sa kaalaman ng Dios.” Collosians 1:10

Hallelujah!

Page 3: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Galatians 5:22-23

Page 4: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“ang bunga ng Espiritu ay pag-ibig, kagalakan, kapayapaan, pagtitiyaga, kabaitan, kabutihan, katapatan, 23 kahinahunan, at pagpipigil sa sarili. Walang batas laban sa mga ganito. 24 at ipinako na sa krus ng mga nakipag-isa kay Cristo Hesus ang kanilang laman at masasamang hilig nito.” Galacia 5:22-24

Though there are nine attributes to the Fruit of the Spirit, the original Greek term translated as "Fruit" is singular, signifying that there is one Fruit, with nine parts.

WHAT IS LOVE? 4 “Love is patient and

kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;2 6

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8

Love never ends.” 1 Corinthians 13

Page 9: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

When JESUS said that He loves us, He showed it in action. He went down from Heaven so that people will be able to see Him, touch Him and talk to Him. He humbled Himself and became a man so we can see Him in flesh just as we are. He showed His unconditional love by giving His life for us. He died on the cross for us. When GOD says that He loves you, He does not just say it but He shows it in action. Now how can you show that you love GOD?

Page 10: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

IF WE LOVE THE LORD, WE WILL.. OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS Keep in contact with GOD,

communicate with Him through prayer

Take time to know Him more by reading His Words.

Be holy. Be set apart. Stop sinning.

Share His gospel to people. Love our neighbor as we love

ourselves.

I JOHN 4:7

“And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.” 1 John 4:21

“God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16

ANG KRISTIYANO AY MAPAGMAHAL

•The Greek word for joy, chara, is derived from the Greek word charis, which means ‘grace.’

•Chara (joy) is produced by the grace of God.

•It is not human-based happiness which can come and go.

Page 17: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Ang Kristiyano ay nagagalak sa Panginoon

“You make known to me the path of life;in your presence there is fullness of joy;at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

Page 18: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

” Santiago 1:2-3

Page 19: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Do not be moved by the circumstances. Our joy is in the LORD. No matter what is happening in our lives, Jesus is our joy.

Page 20: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 21: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Peace is the result of resting in a relationship with God.

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we1 have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

Page 22: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Juan 14:27

The real peace that JESUS gives cannot be found in outward things or in the world.

JESUS left His peace to His disciples when He said “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” JESUS didn’t mean the outward peace.

What JESUS meant was the true, inward peace of the heart and it lasts forever. It is not like what the world gives us which is the false peace that doesn’t last.

Page 23: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

We are put in to unfavorable circumstances so that we can be blessed more. So if you look things in a different perspective, hardships can be seen as good things.

Page 24: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 25: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 26: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Patience (Pagtitiyaga)Patience noted in some translations as “longsuffering” or “endurance. It is the ability to endure persecution, hardships and ill-treatment.

We should be patient, even as He is patient.

God is patient with sinners. Romans 2:4 says that God's patience leads to our repentance.

Today, “our Lord's patience gives people time to be saved” (2 Peter 3:15, NLT).

James urges believers to be patient and not to complain as we wait for Jesus to return.

Page 27: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

God consistently rewards those who patiently endure suffering, wait for the fulfillment of His promises, and rest in Him during the storms of life.

Romans 12:12 ”Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (NIV)

Galatians 6:9 ”Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (NIV)

Revelation 14:12 “This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus.” (NLT)

Page 28: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

When someone does you a wrong, how do you respond - with patience or anger?

Psalm 37:7-9 ”Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.” (NLT)

James 5:7-8 ”Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.” (NIV)

Page 29: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

The opposite of patience is agitation, discouragement, and a desire for revenge. God does not want His children to live in agitation but in peace (John 14:27). He wants to dispel discouragement and replace it with hope and praise (Psalm 42:5). We are not to avenge ourselves; rather, we are to love others (Romans 12:19;Leviticus 19:18).

Page 30: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 31: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

KINDNESS (KABAITAN)Kindness is the expression of love toward God and fellow man.

Kindness is acting for the good of people regardless of what they do.

It encompasses tenderness, compassion, andsweetness.

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32).

Page 32: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Kindness is shown in acts of compassion and generosity, in spite of ingratitude. The parable of The Good Samaritan is a great example. A man was beaten, robbed and left for dead. Both a priest and a Levite passed by the suffering man, but finally a Samaritan stopped. "And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'"(Luke 10:33-35)

ANG KABAITAN NG KRISTIYANO AY IPAPAKITA NIYA SA GAWA

Page 33: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Real Christian kindness is not simply an outward change of our manners; it is an internal change of our hearts. Kindness is our tenderheartedness that we use because God has so touched us, therefore we are sensitive and compassionate toward others.

If our heart is hard on the inside and we are trying to show our good manners on the outside, it is not biblical kindness, and it will not last. Kindness cannot be pretended, nor can it be superficial; it has to come from within as poured out to us from our Lord.

ANG KABAITAN NG KRISTIYANO AY BUKAL SA PUSO

Page 34: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 35: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Goodness (Kabutihan)Goodness is virtue and holiness in action. It results in a life characterized by deeds motivated by righteousness and a desire to be a blessing.

“Goodness” is a natural outcome of living your life in line with God’s will. God's people are to "do good".

Page 36: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

The Bible also tells us that "God is good." Now what makes God good? Well, God is pure, God is holy, God is forgiving, God is generous. So therefore, if we’re good people, then all those characteristics would be true of us, too.

The Bible says, Jesus went around doing going and healing the sick.   Before He ministered, He did good to people.

Everywhere we go we should look for opportunities to be good to people.

Page 37: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Ang mabuting Kristiyano ay namumuhi sa kasalanan.

God is good and His goodness is good in character and beneficial to others. Satan is evil and seeks to steal, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). Who we serve determines our character.

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.” 1 John 3:9-10

Page 38: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“Kaya’t huwag tayong mapagod sa paggawa ng mabuti sapagkat pagdating ng takdang panahon tayo ay aani kung hindi tayo susuko. 10 Kaya nga, basta may pagkakataon ay gumawa tayo ng mabuti sa lahat ng tao, lalo na sa kapatid natin sa pananampalataya." (Galacia 6:9, 10)

Page 39: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 40: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 41: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Faithfulness (Katapatan)Faithfulness is committing oneself to something or someone, for instance, to one's spouse, to a cause, or to the Lord. Being faithful requires personal resolve not to wander away from commitments or promises.

Page 42: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

"Faithfulness is love hanging on." It is love saying, "I will not quit. There may be misunderstandings, there may be disappointments, there may be discouragements, but I will not quit." It is love hanging on.

You may get discouraged. You may be disappointed. But faithfulness says, "Even though there is discouragement & disappointment, I will not let go, I will not quit. I will keep on attending & giving & serving, because God has called me to be faithful."

ANG KRISTIYANO AY TAPAT SA PANGINOON

Page 43: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Do you trust God completely? So much so that you live accordingly—to the point that He is able to trust you? When Jesus Christ returns, wouldn't it be wonderful to hear Him say approvingly, "Well done, good and faithful servant"?

"He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." (Luke 16:10)

ANG TAPAT NA KRISTIYANO AY MAPAGKAKATIWALAAN NG

PANGINOON

Page 44: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

God gives each of us different abilities and opportunities, and He expects us to thoroughly use them in His service. He will generously reward us according to how much we have spiritually grown and served in this life. An "unprofitable servant" who has wasted his time and opportunities instead of obeying God is called "wicked and lazy" and will be punished. And God does not accept excuses—not even fear of failure.

A faithful person is committed to doing whatever God tells them to do no matter what it costs them personally.

Page 45: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 46: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Gentleness (Kahinahunan)

The word is best translated 'meekness,' not as an indication of weakness, but of power and strength under control. The person who possesses this quality pardons injuries, corrects faults, and rules his own spirit well.

Page 47: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

"If anyone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness" (Galatians 6:1).

This doesn't mean to be so soft that the sinner doesn't realize he's sinned. It means to confront the brother in a manner that is in line with Scripture—to be mild, loving, encouraging, and clear about the holiness that God calls us to.

Page 48: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

When we are filled with the Spirit’s fruit of gentleness, we will correct others with easiness instead of arguing in resentment and anger, knowing that their salvation is far more important than our pride (2 Timothy 24-25). We will forgive readily, because any offense toward us is nothing compared to our offenses against God—offenses He's already forgiven (Matthew 18:23-35).

Page 49: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 50: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Self-control (Pagpipigil sa sarili)

the ability to control oneself.

the ability to say “NO” to your own selfish desires and fleshly lust.

the ability to control your own thoughts, words and actions.

27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Page 51: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

The body must be controlled.

“But I discipline my body and keep it under control,2 lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:27

The mind must be controlled.

“take every thought captive to obey Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Galatians 5:24-25

Page 52: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” Proverbs 25:28

“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7

Page 53: Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Page 54: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Paano tayo magbubunga?

"How do we develop love? How do we develop joy? How do we develop peace? How do we develop patience? How do we develop the fruit of the Spirit? The answer is, "Abide in Christ.“

Jesus, in John 15:5 says, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man abides in me & I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.“

Page 55: Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Our character should be like Christ.

We should look at the life of our Lord as our prime example. The alignment of our will and ways to His ways is what produces these “Fruit of the Spirit.”
