On occasions, you may have noticed people knocking on wood, throwing salt behind their backs or getting angry with you for opening an umbrella inside the house.
Why is this?
Are they mad?
Are they paranoid? No, they're just superstitious.
So what is a superstitious person? Basically a superstitious person is
someone who truly believes that they can control their destiny and lives by performing little tricks and magic.
They'll do all sorts of strange things to protect themselves from evil spirits.
However, the truth is, many superstitions are based on common sense, if you walk under a ladder, you may well have bad luck — especially if something falls on your head.
Use the same pencil to take a test that you used for studying for the test.
Apparently, the pencil will remember the answers.
If you dream of fish, someone you know is pregnant. Also, it's bad luck to say the word "pig" while fishing at sea.
Apparently, fish are frightened of pigs.
Shoes on the table will bring you
lots of bad luck.It will also irritate other
members of your household.
A horseshoe above the doorway will bringgood luck to a home. Place it facing upwards like a "U« or the luck will fall out of the shoe. Horseshoe-shaped accessories won't bring you good luck, although they do make lovely. earrings
