1. Fraser Mustard Early Learning Academy Open House: 6:00 to 8:00 pm
This event is open only to the families of current JK/SK students 2015-2016.
Please come and let your child take you on a tour of his/her classroom. Doors
open at 6:00 pm.
There will be several raffles throughout the evening and a chance for your child to
win a prize from our PRIZE TABLE. We will honour our school volunteers at our
Volunteer Appreciation table. We will have language interpreters available to you

2. Community Officer Janet Stather Visit and Presentations
Monday, May 30th and Tuesday, May 31st
We welcome Office Janet Stather to Fraser Mustard on
Monday, May 30th and Tuesday, May 31st for a visit. As part of
the Toronto Police Service School Safety Program, community
liaison officers visit annually with schools. The program for
kindergarten covers the topic: Community Helper.
Presentations are usually 20-25 min sessions. Parents/families
are welcome with younger siblings. Please contact your child’s
teacher or look for information sent home regarding the date
and time for the presentation of your child’s class. Please be on
time, as you may be asked to wait until another presentation
begins.
3. Terry Fox Fraser Mustard Fund Raiser and Recognition
Terry Fox is a Canadian hero, who had a dream to help raise money for cancer. He started to run across Canada, with only one leg, for fundraising. Every year millions of people participate in the Terry Fox Run and try to continue his dream. The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over 500 million dollars in cancer research.

Fox Fundraiser and Recognition a success.
Our School community raised $831.00.
4. Math Gallery Visits
On May 17th, Fraser Mustard teachers studying spatial reasoning
in kindergarten made their learning visible to staff and the
broader Fraser Mustard Family Community. The goals of the
learning journey and math gallery visit are outlined below:
Observe our journey of embedding spatial sense into our mathematics program
Engage in reflective dialogue with the study group about the importance of teaching spatial reasoning in Kindergarten
Gather ideas and resources to try in the classroom.

We appreciate all the volunteers who have dedicated themselves to
ensure that our students have access to healthy snacks and quality food
each and every day. Our parent engagement in this program is one of
the highest in the city.

Supply Rate: $11.35/hr - After 30 Days: $18.77/hr

The standard working hours are 1.25 hours per day, to be scheduled during the lunch period according to school needs.
Summary of Duties for the Lunchroom Supervisor:
Ensure the safety and security of students during the lunch period at Elementary and Junior High Schools.
Key Qualifications:
Experience working with children and setting up activities and programs that are age-related;
A genuine interest in working with students;
Proven record of attendance and punctuality;
Willingness to assume a wide variety of duties;
Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with students, parents, staff and the general public;
Ability to work as a team player;
Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
