Pukeko Hubs Trip to Fisher and Paykel Monday 8 July 2013 We are very lucky to be going to the Fisher and Paykel factory on Monday 8 July. Maya Watson’s Dad has arranged for us to visit and find out about how fridges are made. This fits so well with our ‘Inquiry’ topic in science. We have been learning about solids, liquids and gases and how heat can change the state of matter. The next step is to learn about heat transfer and insulation. Perfect! We will be leaving at 9:30am and arrive in time to have a short break for morning tea. Children need to bring their morning tea in a separate container so that it can be transported easily in a group box. The bus will be leaving to come back to school at 12noon. We expect to be back at school in plenty of time for lunch. Each student should wear full school uniform and fully covered school shoes. This is a health and safety requirement for visiting the factory. Children not wearing correct footwear will not be permitted to go on the trip. We will need 7 parents to help supervise the children. If you would like to come and help, please return the slip below as soon as possible. We will get back to you as soon as practical to let you know further details and confirm your involvement. Pukeko Hub’s Trip to

Fisher and Paykel Monday 8 July 2013

We are very lucky to be going to the Fisher and Paykel factory on Monday 8 July. Maya

Watson’s Dad has arranged for us to visit and find out about how fridges are made. This fits

so well with our ‘Inquiry’ topic in science. We have been learning about solids, liquids and

gases and how heat can change the state of matter. The next step is to learn about heat

transfer and insulation. Perfect!

We will be leaving at 9:30am and arrive in time to have a short break for morning tea.

Children need to bring their morning tea in a separate container so that it can be

transported easily in a group box. The bus will be leaving to come back to school at 12noon.

We expect to be back at school in plenty of time for lunch.

Each student should wear full school uniform and fully covered school shoes. This is a health

and safety requirement for visiting the factory. Children not wearing correct footwear will

not be permitted to go on the trip.

We will need 7 parents to help supervise the children. If you would like to come and help,

please return the slip below as soon as possible. We will get back to you as soon as practical

to let you know further details and confirm your involvement.

Thank you for your support
