◦Introduction

◦Slavery predates writing and can be found in almost all cultures and continents. ◦Historically, most slaves were initially captured in wars or kidnapped in isolated raids but some were sold into slavery by their parents as a means of surviving extreme conditions.

◦African American slavery however, is unique though in that it was based not on any of the traditional reasons for enslavement. Instead,

◦African American Slavery was based on a new concept called race.

Choice Board

(Blue Sheet)

Create a song that goes along with an instrumental song of your choice. Your

lyrics should TEACH everyone else about the topic you’ve researched.

Illustrate and design a poster that could be used on

the classroom wall. Your poster should present key information in a colorful,

detailed manner.

(No stick figures allowed!)

Create a GoAnimate video that teaches others about the specific topic you’ve

researched.

Your GoAnimate should include at least two

characters and switch scenes at least 5 times.

Write a play or skit with another person(s) in your group. This skit should be

informative and engage the audience. You will need to create specific characters

and be prepared to present your skit to the class. (The

teacher will grade your script.)

WILD!

If you have your own idea, please let me know!

Create a timeline using a website:

www.tiki-toki.comwww.timetoast.com

Your timeline should provide the audience with key dates, people, and important facts relative to the topic you’ve researched.

Create a Prezi that has at least one video in addition to the key information you feel

the class needs to know about the information you’ve

researched!

Write a personal reflection as if you are a person involved in this specific time period/place. How would you feel? What would you

see? What might you hear?

(This should be engaging and at least 1 ½-2 pages.)

Before You Go…◦ Think about the information you’ve recorded

today based on your specific questions.

◦How do you feel about the task?

◦How would you rate your understanding?◦ Use the chart to help you convey to Mrs. Lee how

you feel about your progress.
