2008 - A workgroup composed of foster care youth, alumni and advocates reported barriers and obstacles to the Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies (OACCA) for foster care youth in attaining higher education.
In 2013, the Attorney General DeWine awarded Ohio Reach with funding to further develop and expand Ohio Reach’s work to improve college success for former foster youth in Ohio.
Ohio Reach improves post-secondary outcomes for foster care youth and alumni through
Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, Research and Networking (LEARN).
Under the Ohio Reach model, we connect both children services and post-secondary professionals to the advancement of former foster youth in higher education .
