Last December 1st we booked (online) six rooms inthe five-star Hotel Edison, which is located in theheart of the city, in the most importantneighborhood of the city, Manhattan. During our stay, we are going to visit the most important

the city such as Bronx, Queens where many poor peoplelive in slums. We want to take contact with the NewYorker culture as Chinatown, Brooklyn andQueens. And of course, during the rest of the time, weare going to visit the state of New Jersey (next door toNew York).

I will prepare an amazing end of the year. On the last days of this year I'm

going on a trip to Rio de Janeiro because the 31 of December is summer

there. Its a different plan for the last days of this year.

I am going to travel to Madrid on a train, the journey to Madrid will be on

Sunday 27 and I'm going to book a hostel for this night. The flight to Rio

will be in the morning of Monday 28. I am boarding the plane at 7:35, and

I am arriving in Rio at 19:30. The flight, which takes 13 hours, its very

tiring.

I am going to book in the Belmond Copacabana Palace, a big hotel at

Copacabana's beach; this is a fantastic place to celebrate the end of the

year.

On the last day of the year Im going tohave a great breakfast. After that I

am going to the beach. The lunch will consist of a typical Brazilian food

after which Im going tohave a nap and at night Im goingto a fantastic

party in the disco at the hotel.

The next day I am going to a spa to relax and I am going to pack and

prepare to return to Spain.

The 3 of January is the day to return. I will get up to plane at 20:50 and

arrive to Madrid at 12:45 the next day. I am not going to relax and I am

going to take the train and return to Asturias.

This is a fantastic end of the year: staying on the beach in December is

fantastic, so I hope to repeat this trip another year because it is a brilliant

idea.

NEW YEARS EVE IN LONDON

This year my best friends Patricia and Carmen have decided to book New

YearsEve celebration/trip/holiday in London. We are going to stay in a hotel

called The Kensington Hotel located in the city center. We are going to spend

three nights there.

30rd December:

- The plane leaves from Asturias at 17:15 and we are arriving at Heathrow

airport at 19:00.

- After arriving, we are going to take a taxi to the hotel and leave our bags.

- First we are going to see the Christmas lights in the commercial district of

Londons West End.

- At 9 oclock we are meeting with a common friend to have dinner in theAqua Shard restaurant.

- After dinner we are going to see the musical Nutcracker at English

National Ballet.

31st December: New Years Eve

- In the morning we are going to visit The Height of winterin London

Shard where we could see the Christmas decoration with ice and snow.

- During this morning we want to go to some museums or galleries, like

Geffrye Museum or the NaturalHistory Museum.- After that we will need to relax, so we are going to have afternoon tea in

the luxurious Covent Garden Hotel.

- In the afternoon we are going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland to see

the biggest Christmas market. There we will buy ots of gifts and taste

Christmas sweets.

- Before evening we are going to see the large Christmas tree of Trafalgar

Square.

- After doing all this, we are going to return to the hotel because we will

need to prepare for the long night.

- After taking a shower we are seeing our friend Vanessa at London Eye.

- We are having dinner on board a cruise on the Thames River at 9

oclock. We booked at Bateaux London and from there we are going to

see the spectacular fireworks. The boat is going to stop near the London

Eye around midnight.

- To continue the party we are celebrating the New Year in a pub near to

Trafalgar Square.

- We have already bought the tickets for the party and we are going to

dress very chic so we will not have problems to go into the pub.

1st January: New Years Day

- In mid-morning we are going to see the New Years Parade in Piccadilly

Circus.

- In the afternoon we will go ice skating to the Museum of Natural History

if we are not too tired.

- And of course, we are going to go shopping in Bond street because it is aday of sales in London.

2 nd January:

- We are leaving the hotel at 9 oclock.

- We are flying from London at 11:15.

- We are arriving at Asturias airport at 12:30.

- Luckily we are going to have two more days of vacations to rest.

This New Years Eve, Im going to celebrate it with my daughters,sons-in-law and grandchildren. We are going to Lanzarote by

plane on a direct flight from Asturias Airport. There, we are going

to stay in the Princesa Yaiza hotel, at White Beach; this is a

beautiful hotel with all kinds of facilities.

The following days, in the morning, we are going to sunbathe on

the beach, where the children enjoy themselves a lot. In theafternoon, we are going to visit Csar Manriques house, The

Cactus garden, the Timanfaya volcano, where we are going to

take a stroll in camel. The children are very excited about it.

On New Years Eve we are going to have a special dinner at the

hotel. The cook will be Ferrn Adri. After dinner, at twelve

oclock, we are going to eat the grapes, and then, we are going to

have a great party with music and dance until the following day.

After a week of holidays we are going back home feeling very

happy.

First day

On 30th December I am going to travel to Finland with my family because we are going

to celebrate New Years Eve. We are going to get a flight from Asturias to Barcelona and

two hours later, at 10:15, we are going to board the plane to Helsinki. At the airport,

we are renting a car and are going to drive to Haven Hotel. Its an elegant and luxurioushotel near the seaport.

Later we are going sightseeing, but only for two or three hours, because in the morning

we should get up early and go back to Helsinki airport.

Second day

We are going to take a plane from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, in the Arctic Circle.

We have made a reservation to celebrate New Years Eve in the Arctic Snowhotel and

we are going to sleep in a Glass Igloo. From 30 November 2015 to 6 January 2016, a

Glass Igloo for two persons costs 499/night. Its very expensive but its only once in a

lifetime!

For dinner we are going to have traditional foods of Finland like Lohikeitto, that is, a

salmon soup with potatoes, or Merimiespata, which is made of beef, potatoes, onions

and beer. The moose is very typical too, but I dont think I could eat moose meat! The

desserts are the most delicious food to me. The Korvapuusti are very popular, they are

buns with cinnamon.

The restaurant where we are going to have dinner its all made of ice; the tables, chairs,

tableware, even the glasses. Your drinks are served in small glasses made of ice.

In the chairs there are fur blankets and we must wear winter clothes. I am going to put

in my suitcase a faux fur coat, thermal trousers, jumpers, scarvess, gloves and hats.

After midnight we are going to the igloos and if we are lucky, we will be able to see the

Aurora Borealis across the glass ceiling. I am very excited; I am not going to sleep at all

that night to see it!

Third day

After breakfast, we are going to take a bus and go to Santa Claus Holliday Village,

located 8 km north of Rovaniem. Its a local bus and departs once an hour every day.

In the Village, we booked two nights in a cabin apartment, they are smaller and

cheaper than the igloos, but they are very beautiful and comfortable, with sauna,

kitchen and terrace.

When we arrive in the village, we are having lunch in the Christmas House Restaurant

& Coffee Bar; it is a family restaurant with a sumptuous buffet lunch where you can eat

all that you want. The restaurant it is open from 11 am to 2 pm. They have lunch very

early!

After the lunch, we are meeting Santa Claus in his house and are going to take photoswith him. I have a long list with all the wishes for the next Christmas; also, we are going

to visit the Post Office with elves working in it and the Christmas Exhibition where we

can learn about the real Santa Claus and the history of the Christmas tree. When the

visit finishes I would like to go shopping and buy souvenirs.

Fourth day

The last day we are going to do a safari by snowmobile to Reindeer Farm and Husky

Park. I am excited because I am driving through the traditional winter forest of Lapland

but more excited to visit the Husky Park. I love dogs, they are my favorite animals, and

sure, I am going to enjoy it like a child when I meet those beautiful dogs. In the park

there are about 100 huskies and their puppies and we can see their everyday lives.

At night we are going to sleep early because next day we are going to get a free airport

shuttle service from the hotel to Ravaniemi airport and go back home.

"My dream New Year's celebration"

This year, on 31st December, I'm going to travel with my brother, my sister, their families

and my family to Canary Islands.

Why is this my dream New Year's Day? Because this is the first time since ten years ago

we'll be all together atChristmas. My brother lives in Australia, my sister lives in Sevilla

and my house is in Asturias;sadly we can't be all together every year as other families.

We are going to stay in H10 Rubicon Palace, a big hotel in the south of Lanzarote. We are

arriving on 31st December and we are leaving the hotel on 5th January.

I'm departing from Asturias on 31st December at 7:00, it's very early but I couldn't find

another flight. On Christmas holidays a lot of people decide to travel and they book their

tickets as soon as they can. We decided to go on this trip in November.

Our first day in Lanzarote is New Year's Eve. We'll be all together in the evening because

my brother is arriving at the hotel at 19:00. This day, the hotel will give a party to celebrate

the New Year's arrival and we are going to be here. I bought a beautiful long black dress

and I'm going to comb my hair in a very special way. I think we'll be very happy startingthe new year all together.

On 1st January in the morning, we'll

be very tired therefore we are going

to sleep until lunch time.then we are

going to eat in the hotel's restaurant

and spend the day relaxing. The day

will be quiet because we'll need to

rest after the party.

On 2nd January, we are going to be on the beach all day. The weather in Lanzarote is

always fantastic and we would like to enjoy the sun. Near our hotel is Flamingo's Beach, a

beautiful placewith palms where the sand is dark because it is from a volcano.

On 3rd and 4th January, tourist days, we are going to visit the island. The first day, in the

morning, we are going to a local winery, El Grifo, in San Bartolome. The wine production in

Lanzarote is very strange because the vines are deep down in holes. In the island it hardlyever rains so the water is a treasure and in this way you can preserve the night water. In

the afternoon, we are going to Timanfaya, a very beautiful and strange red and black place

where you can see 25 volcanoes. It's similar to a landscape in another planet.

The second day, in the morning, we are going to several places in the island. First, we are

going to visit The Cactus Garden, where you can see 1,100 different cactus species. Later

we are going to visit The Water's Jameos and The Green's Cavern; these places are inside

the Crown's Volcano tunnel. In the Jameos you can see a lake inside the cavern where a

strange blind crab which is unique in the world lives.

5th January is going to be the goodbye day. I'm going to depart at 14:00, my fly is going to

take off at 15:00 and we have to be at the airport half an hour before. Breakfast will be a

little sad; time for hugs and kisses. Sadly we will have to come back home. I hope next year

we could meet again... Fortunately, now, we have internet where we can be together in the

distance...

THE LAST AND THE FIRST DAYS OF THE YEAR

Hello!! My name is Clara and I am going to write about my special last and first days of the

year.

In the next days I will go on holiday with my two best friends whose names are Paola and

Carmen. They will be our Christmas holidays that we are paying with our years savings. We

are going to Mykonos to visit the city and its incredible beaches, but specially to spend the

New Years Eve there.

On the 26th of

December we are going to get up at 7:00 to travel to Madrid by Joses car (Jose is

Paolas father). We are going to travel all the morning and we going to spend all day in Madrid.We are going to stay in Carmens aunts house because the next day we are taking a plane to

Mykonos.

At 22:00 in the evening we are going to the airport because the plane leaves at 23:55 and we

have to check-in before. We arrive at 16:55 at Mykonos because we have to do a layover at

Istanbul so we are going to spend a few hours

visiting the city.

That afternoon we will be doing the check-in in

Leto Hotel (650m from Mykonos center). This

day we are going to go sightseeing around the

area to know a bit more about the places we

are going to spend our holidays in.

On the 28th

we are going to visit the Archeological

Museum which is in the north part of the port. This

food and then we are going to the hotel to relax in the spa. At night we are going clubbing

with some friends we met on our last holiday in Italy.

On the 29th

we are going to spend the day on the wonderful and unspoiled beaches of

Mykonos. In the morning we will be sunbathing on Elia beach and in the afternoon we will be

having a bath in Super Paradise beach.

The 30th

it will be the day dedicated to shopping for some souvenirs for our families and for

some complements to our clothes for the party we have the next day.

On the 31st we are going to visit the capital of Mykonos and at night there is a great party at

the hotel to celebrate New Years Eve. We are going to have dinner in the hotel because they

are going to prepare a special dinner.

On the first of January we are travelling to Delos

Island to spend the day enjoying another beautiful

island. We are going there on the boat which leaves

from the port.

On the second of January unfortunately it will be time to come back home but we will have

enjoyed an unforgettable holiday. Our flight leaves Athens at 10:50 and arrives in Madrid at 6

oclock.

I am sure that this will be a wonderful experience for me and my friends!

MY DREAM NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATION

On New Year's Eve I would like to do something special so I'm planning to

celebrate a big party with all my family. I'm going to book a great hotel in

Aviles where we're going to have a delicious dinner and after that we can

drink and dance all night.

The hotel's name is NH Palacio de Ferrera. It's a beautiful and luxurious, and

it has a nice private garden. It's next to the town hall and it has a private car

park too.

I'm going to hire a person to play with our children while we eat and talk and

also I'm going to hire a jazz music group to play during the dinner.

We're going to sleep there because I don't like anybody to drive at night,

after the party.

The next day we're going to have breakfast and even we're going to have

lunch there.

Last year I won a lot of money in the national lottery so I'll pay all the

expenses.

I have family living in other cities and other countries and I'll pay their flights.

When they arrive at the airport, there will be a car waiting for them.

I hope everybody to be happy in this celebration.

go to his grandparents house walking.

At 07:45 pm we are going to go the Gate of the Sun walking. At 00:00 we are going to

Then we are going to go Huertas Street walking. We are going to go to two different

In El Hecho, we are going to drink some mojitos.

And in La bodeguita de Enmedio, we are going to listen to Cuban music and we are

My dream New Year's celebration.

Last July, I went to Paris with my wife for our honeymoon. We want to come again

because we love this city. Although there were terrorist attacks in last month, I think there

will be a lot of people in the city.

We are going to arrive at Orly Airport in the afternoon. Then, we will leave our luggage at

the hotel. Later, We are going to have dinner in Pasco (www.restaurantpasco.com ).

Marie, the owner, is a wonderful person who cooks delicious dishes. Finally, we are going

to go to Eiffel Tower. Every New Year's midnight, there are great fireworks.

On 1 January, we are going to visit Paris' monuments (Louvre and D'Orsay museums,

Notre Dame...). We can spend a lot of hours on sightseeing. After lunch, we are going to

visit Bataclan club, where terrorists attacked.

We like going on metro, because it's a fast and cheap transport way, so we are going to

buy two tickets for three days.

In the evening, we are going to drink some beers with Manuel. We met him in a boat when

we were sailing across Seine.

The next day, we are going to visit Versailles. On our last visit, we couldn't go because it's

one hour from Paris by train.

Finally we are going to go at the airport at 6.30 in the afternoon. I don't want to be late!

I'm sure it's going to be a great/wonderful/superbNew Year's celebration; perhaps Paris

is the most beautiful and famous city in the world.

For New Years celebration, most people want to do something special, so even

months before they make reservations for private parties. These are usually in hotels,

restaurants or very luxurious places because they think that this is the best way of

celebrating it.

Although people think so, over the time I have learnt that the most important is to be

with the people you love: Your family because these moments will be always part of

your life. So if you want, Im going to tell you my plans for this special night.

Firstly, Im going with my children, my sister, her husband and my niece for a drink

before dinner and enjoy the good mood of the people in the city.

Later, were going to my parents house to enjoy a great dinner all together. After

dinner, well watch TV and talk while our kids play until twelve oclock, because this is

the special moment when were going to eat the grapes quickly.

Finally were going to start the New Year with kisses, laughing, singing and dancing all

together.

As you can see, I didnt need to book entrances for a party, Im not going to travel by

plane, train or bus so I will not need to be in queues or spend a lot of money but you

can be sure that this is the way Im going to be happiest.

I have very good news:

Last day, I saw an old woman who was begging for food. The people gave her some

money; however, I invited her to eat everything she wanted.

Then when she finished, she said to me:

teacher and my family.

are going to stay in wood houses on the most beautiful beach of the island.

After arriving in the island, at ten o'clock on the 31th of December, while we are going

to rest on the spa beach, the pets are going to run on the beach. And then, we are

going to visit all the beautiful places in the island.

Although we like Mexican food, we are not going to eat it because we prefer typical

Asturian food so we are going to eat fabada and cachopo, and were going to offer our

typical food to the Mexicans to know if they like it.

In the night, all the area is going to be lit with many colourful lights for the concerts of

famous artists; it's going to be great! At twelve o'clock at night, we are going to eat

lucky grapes and then we are going to celebrate this new year with fireworks and

dancing all night.

At the next day, we are going to visit Cuba because it is near and in the night we are

going to take a taxi to go to the airport to take an airplane to Asturias.

That is going to be our New Year's celebration!

NEW YEARS EVE

Im going to spend the last day of the year in New York. I have booked a trip toNew York for a week. Im going to with my friend Natalie and we are going totake warm clothes because the winter is very cold in New York.

Day 1: Spain New YorkOur flight leaves on 28thDecember at 7:35 am from Asturias airport to Madrid.Then we are going to flight from Madrid airport to New York. The flight is goingto take us about 9 hours.When we are going to arrive at the airport JFK of New York a guide is going towait us and drive to the hotel. We are going to stay in Hotel Salisbury. It issituated in the centre of New York City near the 5 thAvenue and the CentralPark. It includes a continental breakfast buffet.There is a variety of restaurants in the area such as Angelos, Great AmericanHealth Bar or Stage Deli where we can have lunch or dinner.

Day 2:We are going to begin the day with a sightseeing tour in which we are going tovisit the most famous neighbourhoods of Chinatown, Little Italy and Soho. Thenwe are going to enter in the business district, Battery Park and Wall Street. The

rest of the day we are going to have free time to explore the city.

Day 3:We are going to museums such as the Metropolitan Museum, the GuggenheimMuseum and the MOMA. After that we are going to the most famous part of the5th Avenue, the Empire State, St. Patricks Cathedral and the RockefellerCenter.

Day 4: New Years EveIn the morning we are going to a Gospel Mass and then we are going to visit theChristmas Market Park, called Winter Village where we are going to buy some

presents and souvenirs.We are going to have dinner at the River Caf. Is one of the most knownrestaurants in New York for its spectacular views. It is placed under theBrooklyn Bridge to the Hudson River. The most popular dishes are the localseafood, sea bass and steak. Also there are wines from around the world.

However the star dish is the dessert:Chocolate Marquis Brooklyn Bridge, anamazing chocolate that is a replica of theBrooklyn Bridge.

After dinner we are going to the Brooklyn Bridge from where we can see thefireworks.

Day 5: New Years DayWe are going to have the day off to enjoy the city on New Years Day. We aregoing to visit the Statue of Liberty.

Day 6: New York Spain

In the morning we are to have time for shopping and in the afternoon our guideis going to meet us at the hotel and take us to JFK airport for the flight back toSpain. We are going to arrive in Madrid on 3th January and flight from Madridto Asturias.

"MY DREAM NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATION"

This year, the celebration of the New Year is going to be amazing. My friends and I are thinking of spending some

more money for the celebration. We have copied the idea from a magazine.

On 28th December my friends and I are going to get a plane to Abu Dhabi. We decided to go 4 days before of New

year's Eve because, we are going to buy some dresses for the party and we are going sightseeing.

We are going to travel by plane. The seats will be first class.

We are going to reserve in the hotel called Emirates

Palace.

The hotel is one the most important ones in Abu Dhabi.

Emirates Palace is a 5-star hotel, with a private beach,

pools, lots of restaurants and bars. It is luxurious and

comfortable.

We are going to rent a luxurious suite for four people. The suite called Khaleej

Deluxe Suite has a spectacular 180-degree scenic view of the Arabian Gulf

where you can see turquoise blue waters, a living room and dining room.

We are going to visit Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which is one of the largest in the world, and we are going to go the

thematic park of Ferrari.

Another day we are going to a the Boutique of Zuhair Murad for to buy our dresses for the night.

Also, we are going to go to the spa to relax.

On 31th December, my friends and I are going to have dinner in the Palace. First, we are going to go to a welcome

cocktail party before going to the Gala Dinner. After that, there will be fireworks on/at the beach. Finally, my

friends and I are going to dance in the disco all night.

New Years Eve in Cracow

My perfect New Years Eve will be in Cracow, with my boyfriend. We are going

to fly to Cracow from Madrid at 15:25 pm on the 29thof December and we are

going to return to Madrid the 2ndof January, at 23:40 pm.

We are going to stay in the Europejsky hotel for four nights. Cracow is a very

interesting and cultural city. During the trip we are going to visit a lot of

interesting places, for example the Wieliczka Salt Mineor the Wawel Castle.

On New Years night we are going to have dinner near to the market place in

the old city, where we are going to celebrate the New Year at the crack of dawn

On New Years Day we are going to walk around the old city and we are going

to buy souvenirs and Christmas presents for the family.

But I cant do all this because this trip is very expensive, but I had the

opportunity to visit Cracow and I loved it.
