Lessons Learned& Suggestions
1. The programmes should be started in the Month of June-July. However, the start-up
phase should be started from the Month of April-May for required Advocacy & Networking.
2. For School Programme, effective collaboration & networking with the education
department at the apex level would be helpful for effective implementation of the
initiatives.
3. For RWAs State Level orientation of the RWAs Committee Members would be helpful
to make them understand the importance of the programmes as well as the required know-
how in implementation of the awareness campaign in their respective jurisdiction.
4. Some innovative activities are required in the RWAs inhabited by well-off families,
some cultural events & participatory competitions and like would be helpful.
5. The Community Halls in the RWAs have been used commercially; hence the
programme should keep in mind the financial obligations also.
6. The neighbourhood Committees & Samities and others like clubs would be very
helpful to promote the campaign as in those areas the consumption of Mosquito repellents
are much more than that of well-off families residing at RWAs because of their limited
number.
7. The School Programme should be fixed keeping in mind the examination schedule as
well as holidays listed.
8. The participation of Municipal Corporation, Health Department is essential for
smooth running of the programme.
9. The time schedule for the School Programme should be flexible so that the sit-n-draw
and other participatory activities could be conducted freely.
10. The participation of the target groups in the programme increased substantially
when organized by motivated leader of the youth clubs or neighbourhood committees. The
elected representatives of the Municipal Corporation can be of tremendous help in
organising the programme for their electorates.
11. A dedicated Team of Youths for organizing rally, games, street dramaat the
community level should be helpful in prior implementation of the programme.
12. Building Youth Leadership within the community would be helpful in furtherance
&sustenance of the programme.
13. Visual media should be prepared in local languages in order to disseminate
informations at the grassroots level.
