CONSIDERING THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS CONFERENCE, held under the theme: « CHEMISTRY FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA »

- The MINISTRY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH (MESRS), and

- The DIRECTORATE–GENERAL FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT (DGRSDT)

gave their agreement/sponshorship to the venue of ACRICE 2017 at Ferhat ABBAS University SETIF 1 , during the period

October 8-11, 2017.

This Conference is now held under « the High Patronage of his Excellency the President of the Republic »

Monsieur

Abdelaziz BOUTEFLIKA

ACRICE 2017 is being held under the scientific auspices of

* IUPAC : INTERNATIONAL UNION OF PURE AND APPLIED CHEMISTRY

* FASC : FEDERATION OF AFRICAN SOCIETIES OF CHEMISTRY

* SAC : SOCIETE ALGERIENNE DE CHIMIE

BRIEF HISTORY OF ACRICE’s

• ACRICE 2013 : First conference, held in the university of Addis Abeba(Ethiopia, December 5-7, 2013) under the auspices of UNESCO and FASC.

• ACRICE 2015 : Second conference, held in the university of Venda (South Africa, November 22-27, 2015), under the auspices of IUPAC and FASC

→ DECLARATION DE l’UFAS 1 POUR L’ORGANISATION LA PROCHAINE ACRICE

• ACRICE 2017 Ferhat ABBAS University SETIF1 (Algeria) is the venue of the “3rd African Conference on Research in Chemistry Education”, ACRICE 2017, during the period 8-11 October 2017. (IUPAC + FASC + SAC)

These THREE conferences were organized under the general theme of : “CHEMISTRY for a Sustainable Development in Africa”.

N.B.: the upcoming fourth conference ACRICE 2019 will be held atthe University of Port Hartcourt (Nigeria) during the period ???

THIS THIRD CONFERENCE WISHES TO EMPHASISE THE ROLES OF CHEMISTRY EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND, IN PARTICULAR, FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE MAGHREB REGION AND IN AFRICA, BY OFFERING AN IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SHARING EXPERIENCES AMONG CHEMISTRY EDUCATORS ACROSS THE AFRICAN CONTINENT AND WITH SPECIALISTS FROM OTHER CONTINENTS AS WELL.

MANY AREAS AND LEVELS OF CHEMISTRY EDUCATION WILL BE CONSIDERED, AND THE KNOWN MAJOR CHALLENGES WILL BE GIVEN SPECIFIC ATTENTION. EXPLORATIONS OF NOVEL APPROACHES TO CHEMISTRY TEACHING AND LATEST RESEARCH FINDINGS ON CHEMISTRY EDUCATION AS WELL AS NOVEL TRANS-CONTINENTAL COLLABORATIONS WILL BE DISCUSSED.

ACRICE 2017 IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ALGERIAN CHEMISTS (EDUCATORS AS WELL AS RESEARCHERS) TO SHARE THEIR VIEWS AND FINDINGS WITH EXPERTS COMING FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, AND TO KEEP UP WITH THE LATEST ACHIEVEMENTS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN CHEMISTRY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (AND OTHER RELATED FIELDS SUCH AS BIOLOGY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING…).

6
