Families Enjoy Math Night

February 2016 Volume 1, Issue 6

Many families joined us for math night which was held on February 18th. Those

in attendance learned about the 3 components of math—procedural skill and fluen-

cy, conceptual understanding and application—and enjoyed playing some math

games in their child’s classroom!

Attendance matters and thanks to Chanel at the Spokane Trial Net-

work, Wellpinit Elementary students can win some cool prizes for having good

attendance from now until the end of the year. Students with fewer than 5 ab-

sences will get to put their name in a drawing for a bicycle or an iPad. For those

with fewer than 3 absences, they will get to put their name in the drawing 2

times, and those with 1 or fewer absences will get to put their name in 3 times!

So, let’s see if we can get every Wellpinit Elementary student in the

drawing! Please keep in mind that if a student is gone for more than 15

minutes, it counts as a 1 period absence for the day.
