Personal Message/Welcome Note• To the ladies of Epsilon Epsilon,
I am so excited for fall recruitment 2014. As a chapter we have so many opportunities to look forward to next fall. I know that we are going to put on an amazing recruitment. It is ever more important during this time of recruitment that remain a team, and practice efficient communication. Without these tools a successful recruitment cannot occur. Every sister within our chapter holds a unique thread that creates our wonderful sisterhood. Let’s aim high together and welcome new beautiful sisters to Epsilon Epsilon. Thank you for entrusting me with this important task of planning recruitment.

Membership Eligibility StandardsUse this slide to list your chapter’s membership eligibility standards.
•Your chapter sends a clear message about your values through your eligibility requirements. At a minimum, each new member and initiate must meet the following international membership eligibility standards to be a Phi Sigma Sigma:
– Minimum GPA of 2.6 (on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent)
– Participation in at least two (2) other activities
– 10 hours of community service hours per quarter
•Eligibility standards can include character, academics, leadership, financial responsibility, athletics, service, campus activities, employment, etc.
•Eligibility standards must be clear and specific. Challenge your chapter to accept standards that increase the membership, not maintain or lower it.
•All members must know the standards, which are a reflection of the chapter and Phi Sigma Sigma’s core values.
•Remember that these standards must be approved by the chapter before recruitment begins.
Sister ExpectationsThis slide is for the recruitment chair to tell the chapter what is expected from each member of the sorority.
State important policies (such as attendance).
Attendance is something of huge importance. We need to make meetings more interesting and enthusiastic to get more girls interested and involved with chapter events. Having more girls attend sisterhoods is also important, we may have to make more events mandatory so more girls can attend.
How many women can we take as a chapter?
The chapter can take 15 new members during fall recruitment
What events will we hold on campus to help with our campus PR?

•10am- Chapter will meet at CSUB and settle in.
•10:15am-The retreat will begin with an opening by the MRC, and follow with a slideshow presentation of fall recruitment 2014 (decorations, fashion, food, committees, and important details)
•11am- MRC will discuss what is expected of sisters during recruitment & panellenic rules.
•11:15am-The MRC will conduct a attire check of each sisters recruitment outfits. (Sisters were given this deadline to collect all outfits for recruitment in February 2014, along with a style guide for recruitment)
•12:15pm-Chapter will organize and practice bumping
•1:15pm-Retreat will close/Lunch

Bump GroupsDoes your chapter utilize bump groups during recruitment rounds?
NO.
•Do activities throughout the retreat that puts the bump group members together so they can get to know each other better.
– Include strong, average and weaker recruiters in each bump group so that there is always a good balance!
•Our chapter does not pre organize specific bump groups, However we do utilize “bumping” (Moving multiple sisters in and out of conversations so more of the chapter members get to meet and mingle with PNMs).

Chapter VotingThis is where the chapter receives information on how the chapter will be voting on all potential new members. (alums& CKA will be present and in charge of conducting voting)
•Voting should be broken down by each individual round
Round One: Electronic Voting, sisters will use there phones/laptops to poll in on each PMN after a brief discussion and Information sheet on the PMN. Each PMN will be rated by this system.
•Round Two: Electronic Voting, sisters will use there phones/laptops to poll in on each PMN after a brief discussion and Information sheet on the PMN. Each PMN will be rated by this system. After this round the chapter will start placing together a list of our top 10-15 PNMs
•Round Three:, sisters will use there phones/laptops to poll in on each PMN after a brief discussion and Information sheet on the PMN. Each PMN will be rated by this system. After this round the chapter will create a list of our top 10-15 PNMs. We will also discuss who has not met that PMN, Who has interest in being a PMNs Big sister and defining qualities to determine if they would fit into the chapter. The final list is who will be inviting to preference, and who world want to extend a bid to.

Round One: “Phi Sigs & the City”
• This is our first chance to meet our potential new members. Ask what her hobbies are, interests, and major. Our activity for this night will include a recruitment video. After the video you can talk about Sapphire sisters, Sapphire Ball, Dance Marathon, Summer/Winter retreats, etc. Explain why we make crates and paddles. Try not to give away things like “Secret Week” and “Midnight Marauding”, its all supposed to be a surprise.

– Let the PNM’s know the positive outcomes of being in Phi Sigma Sigma. Mention how you gain networking opportunities for future job opportunities and how well it will look on a resume. Mention to them we just recently celebrated our CENTENNIAL! Also mention Founder’s Day, and what that specific day entails. Try to incorporate how well they would fit into our pyramid.

• Tea Party Concept
• Range of pastel color scheme
• 4 long tables, Mason jars with tissue paper flowers (variety of colors) and tea lights as centerpieces. Different size glass jar filled with pencils, glue sticks, boxes of crayons, etc. pencil bags, antique photo frames of each elementary school we will be donated supplies too.

• This night will consist of a philanthropy which will be school supply bags to 3 local elementary school classrooms. We also will be informing them about the phi sigma sigma foundation with a presentation. On the long rectangle tables we will have various school supplies laid out and pencil bags to make.. Let them now how we “Aim High” with community service. At this point we are familiar with their likes and dislikes. Ask them if they have held leadership roles in the past? Let them know what kind of positions we have. Ask if they have any other questions about anything, and answer them to the best of your ability.

Bid Day DetailsSchedule and Clothing
• Bid Day will be located in front of CSUB’s Runner Café and begin at noon.• -set up: 10:00am this team will consist of rosebuds and a Bid Day Committee• -The Chapter will be expected to arrive at 11:15am• -new members will meet SDC in a separate location at 11:45am and will be walked
over to Bid Day at 12:00pm.• -At 12:00pm BID DAY BEGINS• -New Members are paired with rosebuds(each rosebud will have a poster made for
new member with their name)• -Rosebuds take new members to “gift table” which include their bid day shirts and

Each sister will be given a new shirt specifically for bid day ! This MUST be worn. Theses will be NAVY BLUE tank tops
BOTTOMS: khaki Shorts
HAIR: blow dried, and styled (no wet, undone hair) must be curled or straightened
