John M. Silvis, CFA Director of Investments 

John, a CFA charterholder, serves as Fairport’s Director of Investments. As such, John manages the research of the investment team, determines the asset allocation of Fairport’s portfolios and oversees investment decisions on a day-to-day basis. John provides clients, prospects and internal staff with guidance about Fairport’s investment philosophy, process and performance.  John brings over fifteen years of experience to the Investment Team and has been with the firm since 2000. Prior to Fairport, he was employed at National City Bank and Mellon Bank.

John obtained his BA in Economics at Penn State and his MBA at Baldwin Wallace College. John is a member of the CFA Institute, as well as the Cleveland Society of Financial Analysts.

John resides in Strongsville, Ohio with his wife Lori and three children.

Paul R. AbbeyChairman, Founding Partner & Chief Investment Officer 

Paul has over 35 years of investment advisory and wealth management experience and currently serves as Fairport’s Chairman.

Fairport is the merger of Roulston and Company and The Hickory Group, a firm that Paul founded in 1988. Prior to founding The Hickory Group, Paul worked at Prescott Ball and Turben in the asset management division and National City Bank, researching and managing investments for clients.

Previous to receiving his MBA at Baldwin Wallace, Paul graduated from the College of Woosterwhere he remains active today as a Trustee. He is immediate past Chairman of the Visiting Nurse Association and current Vice Chairman of the Board of the Holden Arboretum, an organization that is near and dear to his family.

Paul resides in Kirtland, Ohio with his wife Connie and has three daughters.
