The times we are living in are uncertain and very challenging. It can be hard on our children.
Right now, our children need us – the adults - we need to be calm, organised and reassuring. They
are relying on us to communicate to them that they are safe and that their lives are predictable.
LET’s BE CALM:
take some time out
breathe
get away from the headlines
play games
laugh
focus on connections
LET’s use the holidays to BE ORGANISED:
store toys so they are easy to get out and put away
wait for natural breaks in your child’s play before getting them to tidy up
let your child know when it is nearly time to tidy up
tell your child what you want them to do at tidy up time
help your child get started if necessary
make tidying up fun

News praise your child for tidying up
if your child refuses to tidy up, gently guide them
use quiet time-out for problem behaviour
return your child to tidy up their mess
use a logical consequence
LET’s BE REASSURING:
this won’t be forever
we will get through this
we have the right attitude
we can dig deep
and we can help others
ENJOY YOUR FAMILIES
KEEP SAFE
SAFETY STARTS WITH US
Keep well everyone
