FABRICATION OF SIMPLE TO COMPLEX STEEL PRODUCTS

We design, model and fabricate complex steel products. With primary focus on pressure vessels, reticulation systems and transmissions, we fabricate products with precision to drawings or through reserve-engineering to products previously procured through custom design or products that are discontinued.

FABRICATION

PRACTICAL WELDING

We approach welding differently and we select the type of welding process based on the problem at hand. This give us the flexibility to adapt to different problems and environments that our customers face. Our resources are skilled and knowledgeable in almost all types of welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding(SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding(GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc welding (GTAW).

Our scope includes welding of low to high pressure piping systems, structural steel and pressure vessels. We specialize in welding of a variety of materials including alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron and wrought steel. All our welding practices are performed to specific codes including:- ASME(BPVC Sec I, II, IV, V, VIII, B31.1, B31.3, B16.25, B16.34)- AWS(D1.1, D10.12), - API(600, 1104)- ISO(3834, 2553)- SANS(347)

PROCESS PIPING

We provide fully comprehensive process piping solutions from design andstress analysis calculations to modeling, fabrication and complete installation. We also perform repair, modification and maintenance on existing piping systems. For steam piping where heat conservationis critical we also provide pipe insulation using lagging and cladding.

RETICULATION COMPONENTS

We design, fabricate and install water and steam reticulation components including:- Sample coolers- Spool pieces, expansion joints and swivel joints- Steam trapsets- Piping anchors- Special Pipe fittings

Through the years we have been assisting maintenance managers and engineers with comprehensive repairs and overhaul services on their key components including motors, pumps and valves.

With maintenance accounting for a considerable amount of costs to keep engineering plants running, we take it a step further and provide outsourcingsolutions on services we provide leading to service level agreements that proposes suitable trade conditions with our customers to ultimately providethem with required services at reasonably lower costs.

INDUSTRIAL PUMPS

With a great partner you can enjoy a prolonged pump operational endurance.Over 90% of our pump repairs are done as per OEM drawings and design parameters.

We offer full pump repair and overhaul services that handles: - Recondintiong and welding of the casing - Impeller repair and rebuilding or complete replacement - Shaft turning, bearing replacements and balancing - Sealing and testing

We also provide routine services including mechanical seal replacement and regulargreasing and operation examination of the pmp through our service level agreement model. Let us take care of your pumps, focus on what you do best and deliver quality results without worring about costly breakdowns!

INDUSTRIAL VALVES

With our valve repairs and overhaul services, we help you make informed decisions by providing you with technical reports after comprehensive failure analysis checks.

For a repair or overhaul service we: - Identify any operational issues with the valve - If any issues were encountered, we disassemble as per manuacturer procedure, inspect and examine the damages and subsequently provide the customer with a technical report with recomendations. The customer decides on the way forward based on their budget either to repair or replace. - All repairs and overhauls are carried our as per governing standards of manufacture. - Upon a successful repair or overhaul, we perform seal testing and operational testing and issue a test certificate in accordance to governing standards of manufacture(e.g SANS 347, API 600 etc).

ELECTRIC MOTORS

As your electric motor ages, the coils are prone to break down and be compromised. Shortened or damaged coils hugely affects the efficiency of your electric motor leading tohigh energy usage with lower power output until it completely fails. Through a well plannedand managed preventatve maintenance you should always consider the manufacturer recomendation and get your motor service on time. Do not wait until it’s too late!

We provide rewinding services on routine maintenance or breakdown basis. Our rewinding procedure handles: - Pretesting and data recording - Removal of the old winding, cleaning and painting the stator - New coil production and installation - Lacing installation - Varnish dipping and curing - Performance testing

QUALITY IS ALL ABOUT BRING PRECISE

Precision machining(PM) is a subtractive process primarily used in situations where excess material needs to be removed from a raw product to create a finished product. PM is widely used in creating critical machine components that require high precision with very tight tolerences. At Topspec we work with some of the best precision machinists with an immense experience with a lot of the most common machining techniques including turning, milling, sawing, drilling and grinding.

We offer an incremental service that transforms an idea into a CAD model and finally a finished product. We are capable in generating ditigal models of any type of products using some of the best CAD programs including Solidworks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD and SolidCAM.

PRECISION MACHINING

Thus, maintenance plays a pivotal role in ensuringthat these operational assets are working at expected efficiencies to maintain output results. Without proper maintenance, you can lose heavily on unexpected breakdowns and/or poor outputs from malfunctioning machinery. The cost of regular maintenance is very little when compared to the cost of a major breakdown during which there will not be any production.

PREDICTIVE AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TO YOUR RESCUE!

Over 80% of machine failures are preventable. Through proper routine inspections and surveys you can predict machine failure based on data acquired through surveys and inspections. Being able to predict machine failure enables you the time to prevent those failures through propermaintenance actions.

STEAM TRAP INSPECTION SURVEY

A steam trap is a crucial component on any steam line. Safety is important, and steam trapsplay a huge role in maintaining safe operation of a steam line. If not propertly maintained, condensate accumulating on a steam line can burst or cause damaging vibrations on pipe bendsor even break valves that are installed on a pipeline increasing the safety risk and also maintenance cost.

Our steam trap survey not only captures data but helps you make informed decisions about yourplant and maintenance actions required. Here’s what our inpection survey involves: - Identification and labeling of all the steam traps - Thorough inspection of each steam trap, its application compatability and installation - Assitance with new trapset designs and replacement of incorrect steam traps. - Assitance with identifying other critical operational issues related to steam and condensate management system.

PUMP INSPECTION

Pumps are one of the components that are very predictive to failure due to their simplicity of operation. They can be very expensive to replace and ensuring that they are regularly maintainedcan improve your maintenance cost by a huge margin. Here’s what our pipe inspection involves:- Mechanical inspections Performance run for a period of time under rated condition for that pump. Vibration tests are perfomed on roating parts of the pump against OEM parameters.- Visual Inspections A visual inspection is performed to determine the conditions of the pump and its components. The pump is also checked for any fluid, air, oil or grease leaks.- Audible Inspections Sound inspection is performed to determine the noise of the pump under normal or rated working conditions against the prescibed OEM parameters.
