Slide 2 Expectations, Procedures, Policies Developed by Technology Services 1:1 Laptop Initiative Slide 3 Slide 4 Student Expectations Computer at school every day Computer charged at home each night Computer kept in good working condition Computer treated as if it is their own Goal 0 loss/damage Slide 5 Student Behavior Expectations Student Code of Conduct will be enforced for issues related to Misuse, vandalism, intentional damage, etc. Cyberbullying UCPS Board Policy 4-3b, 5-20 and the accompanying Administrative Guidelines Slide 6 Procedures Students retain computer for use until end of school year Designated day for return will be announced towards the end of school year Students who withdraw from school will be expected to surrender computer at the time of withdrawal Lost/stolen machines should be reported immediately Slide 7 UCPS Acceptable Use Policy General Guidelines Students will have access to all available forms of electronic media and communication, which is in support of education and research and in support of the educational goals and objectives of the Union County Public Schools. Students are responsible for their ethical and educational use of the technology resources of the Union County Public Schools. Slide 8 UCPS Acceptable Use Policy Access to the Union County Public Schools technology resources is a privilege and not a right. Each employee, student and/or parent will be required to follow the Union County Public Schools Internet Acceptable Use Policy, as well as the Union County Public Schools discipline policies. Slide 9 UCPS Acceptable Use Policy Transmission of any material that is in violation of any federal or state law is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to the following: confidential information, copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material and computer viruses. Slide 10 UCPS Acceptable Use Policy Any attempt to alter data, the configuration of a computer or the files of another user, without the consent of the Principal, will be considered an act of vandalism and subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the district Internet Acceptable Use Policies and the Union County Public Schools Discipline policies. The best way to monitor Internet use and safety is through Active Parental Supervision
