Activity Descriptions Rainbow  Write-­‐  Write  each  word  and  trace  them  with  at  least  three  different  colors.  Choo-­‐Choo-­‐  Write  all  of  the  words  in  one  con8nuous  strand!  No  spaces.  Type  your  words-­‐  Type  the  words  and  use  some  fun  fonts!  Backward  Words-­‐  write  your  word,  then  write  it  backwards  right  next  to  it.  ABC  Order-­‐  Write  the  words  alphabe8cally  2x  Each-­‐  Write  each  word  twice!  Spelling  Scribble-­‐  Make  a  large,  loopy  scribble  and  write  the  words  randomly  in  any  white  space!  Be  crea8ve,  there  

 is  no  wrong  way  to  do  it!  Prac8ce  Test-­‐  Have  an  adult  give  you  a  prac8ce  spelling  test  and  sign  it,  then  turn  it  in!  Magazine  Words-­‐  Cut  out  leNers  from  magazines,  newspapers,  etc.  to  create  each  word.  Or,  if  you  find  the  

 whole  word  you  could    use  that  too!  Fancy  Write-­‐  Write  your  words  in  your  own  fancy  wri8ng.  Rhyming  Words-­‐  Write  each  word  and  a  word  that  rhymes  right  beside  it!  Scrabble  Board-­‐  Write  as  many  of  your  words  connec8ng  as  you  can,  like  on    a  scrabble  board!  8  Sentences-­‐  Choose  8  words  and  use  them  in  complete  sentences.  Comic  Strip-­‐  Create  a  comic  strip  and  include  each  word.  Underline  your  words  in  the  comic.  Song-­‐  Create  a  song  using  as  many  words  as  possible.  Write  down  your  song!  Wordle-­‐  Visit  www.wordle.net  and  select  create  your  own.  Type  in  all  of  the  words  and  don’t  forget  to  print  your  

 wordle!  Story-­‐  Write  a  short  story  using  at  least  8  words.  Illustrate-­‐  Draw  a  picture  of  at  least  8  words.  Label  each  picture  with  the  word  you  are  illustra8ng.  Word  Synonyms-­‐  Write  each  word  and  write  a  synonym  of  the  word  next  to  it!  (Synonym=words  that  

 mean  the  same  thing.)  Acros8c  Poem-­‐  Write  the  word  ver8cally,  and  write  a  sentence  next  to  each  leNer  that  begins  with  each  

 leNer  of  the  word.  Dots  or  Stars-­‐  Write  each  word  and  put  dots  or  stars  at  the  ends  of  each  leNer.  Word  Pyramid-­‐  Create  a  pyramid  using  the  leNers  of  each  word.  Put  the  first  leNer  at  the  top,  then  the  first  two  

 underneath,  then  the  first  three  under  that,  and  so  on  un8l  the  en8re  word  is  at  the  boNom  of  the    pyramid.  

Bubble  LeNers-­‐  Write  each  word  in  bubble  leNers.  Blue  Vowels-­‐  Write  each  word  but  make  the  vowels  (a,e,i,o,u)  blue.  Outline-­‐  Write  each  word  and  put  a  cool  outline  around  it!  A  cloud,  box,  whatever  you  choose!  Capital  LeNers-­‐  write  the  words  in  all  capital  leNers.  Flash  Cards-­‐  Make  a  flash  card  for  each  word  and  study!  Dot  to  Dot-­‐  Write  each  word  using  only  dots,  then  go  back  and  trace  the  dots  to  create  the  words!  Book  Mark-­‐  Design  a  bookmark  and  write  your  spelling  words  on  the  back!  PaNern-­‐  Write  each  word  and  make  colorful  paNerns  with  the  letters!  Syllable  Count-­‐  Write  each  word  and  the  number  of  syllables  next  to  it!  Word  Triangle-­‐  Write  each  word  three  8mes  in  the  shape  of  a  triangle  Poster-­‐  Design  any  kind  of  poster  for  this  week’s  story  using  your  spelling  words!  Parts  of  Speech-­‐  Write  each  word  and  its  part  of  speech  next  to  it!  (noun,  verb,  adjec8ve)  Defini8ons-­‐  Write  the  word  and  its  meaning.  Red  Consonants-­‐  Write  the  word  and  make  all  of  the  consonants  red.  (All  leNers  except  a,e,i,o,u)  Antonyms-­‐  Write  each  word  and  a  word  that  means  the  opposite  next  to  it.  Boxes-­‐  Write  each  word  and  draw  spelling  boxes  around  it.    Write  a  LeNer-­‐  Write  a  leNer  to  a  character  from  this  weeks  story  using  as  many  words  as  possible.  Concrete  Poem-­‐  Make  a  picture  of  the  word  by  wri8ng  the  word  over  and  over  instead  of  lines!  Highlight-­‐  Write  the  word  and  highlight  it  in  preNy  colors!  Silly  Sentences-­‐  Write  silly  sentences  for  each  word.  Word  Hunt-­‐  Find  each  word  in  a  book,  magazine,  newspaper,  anywhere!  Write  the  word  and  where  you  found  it.  Q-­‐Tip  Paint-­‐  Write  each  word  by  using  paint  on  a  Q-­‐Tip  to  dab  each  word.  News  Ar8cle-­‐  Create  a  news  ar8cle  about  this  week’s  story  and  include  at  least  8  spelling  words!
