evaluation question 6
TRANSCRIPT
Evaluation6 - What have you learnt about
technologies form the process of constructing this product?
Over the past few months that we have been making our music magazines, we have
used different technologies to design, create and publish to
an audience.
One piece of technology that I already knew very well was Adobe Photoshop. With this software, you
can create your own images and designs for anything.
Even though I started using Photoshop many years ago, it is only
over the past couple of years, through my GCSEs and A-Levels than
I have improved greatly in its use, acquiring many skills from it in the
process.
One thing that I had never used before however, was Blogger.
Blogger allows you to post things that you have created in your own
personal webpage.
Having never used it before, I found it tricky to use at first. But after just a couple of weeks I was able to easily use it to post the various pieces of my coursework, such as research,
plans, designs, and the final pieces of finished work themselves.
I used something which I have used for around 10 years in Microsoft
PowerPoint, to create various slideshows on my research into the
Britpop genre, analysis of magazines such as Rolling Stone, as well as
other things, including this evaluation.
Something else that I used in cooperation with PowerPoint was
SlideShare. This was another thing I had never used before, so it took a
while to get into it. SlideShare allows you to upload your slideshows to the
internet, an then (to a further extent) allows you to embed them
onto a blog, specifically mine.
Another (blatantly obvious) technology that I used was the
Internet, which I have used ever since I started using a computer, and is still the main reason I’d use one. I used it to help research my ideas,
designs and analysis, incorporating it with things such as PowerPoint in
order to express what I'd found more easily. I used various info websites,
such as Wikipedia, but also the websites of existing music Mags, such as NME and Rolling Stone.
