Short description: Since two of us teach Maths and one of us is also involved with Math teaching by CLIL, this project with deal just a bit with Maths, but not only. It will be centered on Math and food. The two Maths teachers would work on the mathematical part of the topic (searching for mathematical applications connected to cooking and food: shapes, volumes, proportions, statistics, calories calculations etc.), while the others will take care of some other aspects such as telling is about the traditional recipes in your county, collect proverbs connected to either maths or food, holidays customs and dishes, take photos, make videos.

Goals •Making connection between Maths and every-day aspects and emphasizing its importance. •Getting to know and understand our cultural and historical background, by means of sharing our customs and traditions. •Facilitating communication among our pupils.

Strategy•ICT tools: Presentations (Powerpoint and Prezi), videos, slideshows, animation. For communication: skype, Elluminate. The eTwinning portal •Pedagogical basis: Project-based teaching, cross-curricular teaching. •Working methods: The students will work on groups, first in their country team, then in the multi-national teams. The teachers will also work in teams, according to their subject.

2 weeks All the students must organize themselves in groups of three. They have to decide a recipe of a traditional Polish/Spanish/Slovakian/Romanian dish they will prepare with their partners. The task will be writing it and COOKING it. Students will have to produce proves of it.

1 week To end up the activity students will have to write the recipe of the dish, and take some photos: one with the ingredients and utensils, one or two of your doings when making the dish,

and finally one with the final result.

1 week

The mathematical partThe teams will now be formed of 4 students from 4 different countries. They will choose a name and make a logo for their team. The name must have both mathematical and cooking terms

All teachers

1 month Each team will choose a topic connected with the recipes and try to discover the connections. The topics will be : shapes, volumes, proportions, statistics, (calories) calculations using integer numbers. The teams will present the others their discoveries and discuss every-day applications of Math.
