Though this transplantation into an alien environment for the purposes of education, these publications are records of mundane points of interest accompanied with observational notes and a crudely research history of the site. This is set of documents evaluates and archives a point in time where the United Kingdoms educational at a graduate level is changing within a political landscape along with the psychical environment of this particular academic environment.

Pondering over the 2011 tree survey, I noticed the format of the document had changed from the past 2005 report. I noticed the ‘Experience’ chapter has been added, along with the slight alterations of ‘ conclusion’ to ‘Recommendations’ and the wording of ‘Location Plan’ has been simplified to ‘Map’. I only guess that it is to simplify the text presented what has the world become when bureaucracy is not confusing! When I read a over bearing survey of plantation within institution. Although theses grounds have been used for the academically minded from the 1810’s, with the building of the Plymouth Public free school when it was moved in to Coburg Street. They in a similar path to the current occupiers of Scott Building, with the introduction of a purpose build building, that is still stands today (but, maybe not in the same way). Throughout the re-development of the city and the site in which the university of today stands, politics and popular architectural fashion has shaped the Flora of the campus. Seeing the change of Victorian styles of openness to the forth comings of war, brutalism and the mechanical age.

Within the Chapter heading of this report the subject title; “headings and Abbreviations” in the 2005 report, there is an interesting title of ‘Failure potential’. The sentence that follows the same sinister route by saying: ‘likelihood of tree part striking the target.’ This is then marked from one to four; one being ‘low potential’ to four being ‘failure and very likely’. This has been removed from the 2011 edition of the report, but I still feel that this may be a necessary piece of information for the general public to know. As the calming down of the 2011 report compared to the long absents from the 2005 report (which had an annual report the previous year). As the physiological condition records aspects of the each species of tree under the categorization of usually; Good or Fair. But could be more vague as Group of trees and the more scientific as Epicormic Growth and Bifurated (which means Twin stemmed?). My personal favourite is still situated within the vigour heading thought. Vigour is a measure of the tree(s) heath. With the recent great oak that ‘disappeared’ on the grassy knoll of the RLB within the summer of 2011. I’m personally don’t displaying any conspiracy theories that sound this event. Only saying that that with the stipulations of the document a tree an only be marked as one of three: D= tree is dead, A = Tree is in a normal condition for it’s species or L=tree is low in vigour, possibly in decline.
