ABSTRACT This study aimed to provide information on the awareness of selected students of PUP Main on Environmental Science concepts for the First Semester, School Year 2008-2009. The descriptive correlation method of research was utilized. Results show that the students in general, possess satisfactory knowledge, desirable attitude and desirable practices towards environmental conservation.

RationaleYouth have always been regarded with both special concerns and special responsibilities in relation to the environment. Undoubtedly, they would be greatly affected by a number of environment risks and hazards we all inherited from our ancestors. They are expected to engage in new form of environmental action and activism that will hopefully generate more effective responses to environmental challenges.

Though we are waking up to the need to change our attitudes and practices concerning the environment, our efforts are not exerted fast enough to avert the dire consequences of our negligence. We as educators should then work hard together so as to motivate our youth to save our environment not only for themselves but also for the future generations.

The questionnaires were divided into three parts:

• Part I. Test of Knowledge on Environmental Conservation for PUP students

• Part II. Questionnaires on Attitudes Towards Environmental Conservation for PUP students

• Part III. Questionnaires on Practices Towards Environmental Conservation for PUP students

CONCLUSIONS• From the foreground findings of

the study, the researcher arrived at the following conclusions:

• The students, in general, possess satisfactory knowledge on environmental conservation.

• The students, in general, possess desirable attitude toward environmental conservation.

• The students, in general, possess desirable practices towards environmental conservation.

RECOMMENDATIONS • Curriculum planners should integrate

environmental concepts in all subjects.• Deans and chairpersons of all

college/subject areas should include all discussions of environmental science concepts in Faculty Development Seminars.

• Researches are encouraged to conduct similar studies in other schools.

• Administrators, deans, and chairpersons should hold meetings to discuss environmental science concepts to improve awareness among the stakeholders.

• Government should intensify information dissemination campaigns on environmental concerns
