Transportation and storage - His equipment must be transported and stored observing the following directions: - Avoid falls and impacts; - Keep it dry, do not expose it to rain, water drops or wet floor; - Keep it away from water and direct sunlight, and in it original wrapping; - Upon transporting, respect the maximm stacking indicated on the outside of the packaging. - Transportation and storage temperature range: -12°C to 55°C; - Transportation and storage relative humidity range: 0% to 90%; - Atmospheric pressure range: 500hPa to 1060hPa (375 mmHg to 795 mmHg). Maintenance of the BORDEN Type Lining:

- Insert a screwdriver of 1.2mm in the face of the lining as per (fig. A), using it as a lever until removing it from the hole. - Remove the damaged lining (fig. B).- Place the new lining in the hole leaving the holes aligned, an with a screwdriver push the lining carefully downwards (fig. C).

OPERATION

Terminal Coupling- Ensure that the connection of the instrument is compatible with that of the equipment (Borden Type or Midwest Type as per the

figures). Connect and thread the nut of the terminal turning it in a clockwise direction until it is fastened.

Functioning- For the handpiece to function well it is necessary to have a driving pressure of 275.79 kpa = 40 psi = 2.75 bar. - Before using it for the first time, follow the lubrication procedures.

ATTENTION:

CHANGE:- Insert a screwdriver of 1.2mm in the channel of the O-ring. 1, moving it outwards (fig. A), first removing the ring from channel 1 and then from channel 2, (fig. B). - In order to fasten the new ring, execute the opposite process without the screwdriver (fig. C).

Cleaning and Disinfection:These processes should be used in the handpieces.- Uncouple the piece from the INTRA fit terminal.- Remove the diamond tip or bur.- Clean the external part using alcohol at 70% or another disinfectant which does not have an acid base, ammonia or chlorine.

LUBRIFICATION

TYPE BORDEN

Lubrication in spray- The lubrication should be executed by the hole using the adapter as

illustrated in the figure- Press the oil spray maintaining the bottle in the vertical position and

apply for 1 or 2 seconds.- Cover the piece with absorbent paper to remove the excess of oil.- Handpieces not submitted to the sterilization process must be lubricated

at least twice a day.

Note:- For the perfect functioning of the instrument, only use the lubricant

specified by Gnatus at the end of each work period.

ATTENTION:• The lubricant does not come with the product.• Not using the lubricant will lead to the loss of the warranty of the product.

Sterilization:

3 - Sterilization- Follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the appliance.- Only sterilize clean and lubricated handpieces.- Clean, grease and remove the overflow oil in the apparatus according to the previous indicate, put it in the surgical grade paper (not provided by Gnatus) and sterilize it in autoclave until 135°C (275°F) through a cycle.- The bit breaker can be placed into an autoclaved up to 135°C (275°F) during one cycle.

- Turn the control ring in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

- Lubricate as per the indications.

- Tighten the connection.

- The micromotor does not function.

- The control ring is in the intermediary position between the counterclockwise and clockwise directions of speed.

- Lack of lubrication or inadequatelubrication.

- The connection of the instrument / terminal is loose.

- Bearing damaged.

- Lack of air or low air pressure.

- Lack of lubrication or Inadequate lubrication.

- Check the air pressure in the network.

- Lubricate as per the indications.

- Failure and noise in the functioning.- Air leakage.

The most important aspect related to equipment care is that concerning spare parts.To guarantee the life span of your equipment, use only original Gnatus spare parts. They are sure to follow the technical specifications

equipment constantly new for they count on technical assistants who have been trained and on spedific tools for the correct maintenance of your equipment.
