• Complete and return the application form – NO SET DEADLINE

• Some sections are checked by SCC Procurement colleagues to check compliance and references

• Providers gain a place on the scheme once they have passed the compliance and panel stages, and references have been obtained

• CONTRACTS ARE THEN AWARDED!

I’M ON THE SCHEME – WHAT HAPPEN’S NEXT?

• Successful providers must ensure that any staff that they wish to undertake the BRFC Key Worker role attend the mandatory 2 day Key Worker training and the Outcomes Star training

• DBS details are required for Key Workers

• Families First District Leads provide information to the District Commissioning Leads (DCLs) / District Children’s Commissioning Officers (DCCOs) on those families who require a Key Worker

• DCLs / DCCOs then consult the Accreditation Scheme database to identify which providers are on the scheme for their district – brief details are then emailed to providers

I’M ON THE SCHEME – WHAT HAPPEN’S NEXT?

• Once a provider has been identified the Individual Family Placement Agreement (IFPA) / contract is signed by the provider and SCC Officer

• The IFPA contains the Family Profile (started by Families First at district profiling / mapping meetings) and the Troubled Families Criteria Form

• Arrangements have been made which ensure that the Key Worker has the opportunity to meet with the Families First District Lead (or other member of staff) to:

– discuss the family / gather more intelligence– discuss the approach to be taken when contacting the family for the first time

Page 17: Engagement of the Voluntary & Community Sector with the BRFC Programme Karen Coker – Commissioning Officer / SCC Kerry Shea– Development & Finance Director

I’M ON THE SCHEME – WHAT HAPPEN’S NEXT?

• Accreditation Scheme providers are paid at a rate of £17 per hour

• To simplify the process providers are paid for up to 3 hours per ‘visit’ – this then includes travel time, the actual visit, and any phone calls / meetings in relation to the family

• Key Workers complete a standard timesheet per family (template provided) and return monthly (with an invoice)

• Contracts are initially put in place for each family for a set period of time - linked to the level of support required (Superlight / Light / Intensive)

I’M ON THE SCHEME – WHAT HAPPEN’S NEXT?

• Monitoring may take place with the DCL / DCCO in regards to progress being made for the family

• Cases close / contracts end when the family has been ‘turned around’ and Payment by Results claims have been made for the family (via the District BRFC Administrator)
