I am a recently graduated Industrial design and Product Development Engineer at Mondragon University (Basque Country, Spain).

I am an active, positive and cheerful person who loves learning new things everyday, travelling, nature, meeting new people, knowing about other cultures, habits and ways to understand life. I enjoy practising outdoor sports, sewing, dancing and listening to music.

I believe in design as a powerful tool that cultivates the interaction between user and product so as to deal with our society needs and improve life.

Last year I was fortunate to have the chance to develop my Bachelor thesis at CPH Inventures A/S, Copenhagen (Denmark), where I was responsible of the airports’ transit area trolleys’ parking unit redesign. This was a very rewarding experience due to my personal and professional growth.

The aim of this portfolio is to show a selection of some projects that I have developed during my university years so as to be part of Umeä University’s “Interaction Design” programme.

2010-2014 Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering Degree (Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Mondragon, Spain).

Studies centred on gaining knowledge and competences based on nowadays society’s real problems project solving methodology.

Achieved skills:-Ability to create new technically and economically viable products, services or concepts that will add value to companies and market, dealing with the users’ needs.

Courses2014 october-present Website making and publishing course (480h) (Zubeldia ikastegia, San Sebastian Spain).

Awards & Mentions2014- End of degree Kutxa award2013- Maier Colour and Trim contest : finalist with Wellbeing Society.2012- ESTIA’s (Ecole D’Ingenieurs,CCI Bayonne) 24 hours of Innovation contest: 2nd prize with Beyeux (team work).

SaverWater saving tank

Saver allows reusing the water of the sink in the WC making use of the pressure difference between the Saver tank’s inside and outside pressure. This product is viable, simple, easy to use and efficient. Moreover, it allows saving 20 litres per user a day.

The main goal of this project was to design a product that would deal with the World’s water shortage problematic by 2020.

Therefore, Saver has been design so as to make the society aware of the necessity of preserving natural resources, eco-friendly (sustainable lifeclycle, sustainable materials and non electric powered mechanism) and to be comfortable for everyone (taking into account its user friendliness).

My work: water situation research, state of art of water devices, create concepts, 3D modelling and rendering.

Water’s situationNowadays Although world’s 3/4 is water, only the 0,3 percent of the resources are usable, the 97,5% is salted. Moreover, water, which is a necessary resource, is the most used and vainly wasted (water leaks, the effects of the climate changing, etc.).

Near future situationIt is said that water demand will increase 55% by 2050. Furthermore, the extreme precipitation changes would certainly decrease the nowadays water level and the greenhouse effects would affect negatively to the drinkable water level. Apart from that, the water needs will also increase as well as its price. In all likelihood, this will affect to people’s behaviour and will create extreme situations in our society, increasing the chance for happening a real catastrophe.

*A eco-design methodology that make use of qualitative and quantitative tools**Fermented milk drink made with kefir grains

KefloraYogurt maker

Keflora, Moulinex YOGURTEO” DJC1 41 yogurt machine’s redesign, is a non electric powered yogurt machine that uses Kefir** for making yogurt.

The main goal of this project was to innovate in the concept of yogurt machines following IHOBE*’s eco-design methodology so as to reduce the environmental impact those machines have and reach their target consumer more effectively.

The reason for selecting a yogurt machine for the redesign was mainly their lack of success in the market and the identified possibility of attracting eco-consumers, a non-stop increasing consumer trend.

As a result of this eco-design process Keflora was created. This yogurt machine is easy to use, to dismantle and clean as well as aesthetically attractive and made by recycled plastic. Thus, this eco-friendly product

My work: part of eco-analysis of the yogurt machine, research for eco-design, create concepts, 3D modelling, usage.Team members: Enara Agirrezabala, Maitane García and Nere Karrera.

REQUIREMENTS

In the creation of Keflora concepts we focused on new aesthetic lines that will attract consumers as well as reduce the number of components and the homogeneity of used material.

Different geometries have been inves-tigated so as to allow to reduce the necessary space needed for using it as well as to create an ergonomically user-friendly product.

On the right there are some of the fast sketches I did.

USAGE:

The product in detailKeflora’s cone shape’s makes pouring the yogurt inside to a vase and the clean-ing easier. The volume is also reduced as well as its weight. Thus, it is easy to handle and use.

Moreover, Keflora gives the opportunity of choosing the desired yogurt quantity and it does not need any energy source for working.

The material selected for all compo-nents has been the recycled PS. Despite the cone which is made of crystal PS, the others are made of HDPS. This reduced the material used.

The colours, green and white (nature and pureness), its simplicity and innova-tive shape makes Keflora different from other yogurt machines. Moreover, the use of Kefir makes the yogurt healthier. Thus, this yogurt maker will be more attractive for consumers and it is likely to be successful in the market.

The main objective was to build an attractive product for making bicycle more perceptible so as to reduce accidents. This objective was achieved, due to the little light or the noise that Beyeux makes when someone is detected by the sensor inside it.

My work: team leadership, part of the brainstorming and ideation, 3D and some of the video illustrations.

The aim of this project was to rebuild an existing fan so as to understand its mechanism. To know if the re-designed parts will fulfil their function, three of them where printed in a 3D printing machine and assembled in the real fan. An exploded view of the made parts, the new assembly and one of the moulding of the parts are shown here.

Team project.

My work: I was responsible of the fan’s mechanism analysis so as to calculate its speed, 3D modelling of the 4th piece and its moulding.

The objective of this workshop was to gain knowledge about people’s most instinctive and natural way of behaviour in different situation so as to obtain useful insights to appeal people to park and get their trolleys in the airport. In order to gain these insights, some design games where used: the analogy game and the issue cards.

The following is an example of the outcome of the analogy game. The presented layouts are analogies of the airport scenario.

Miluta design is the result of the collaboration between an industrial design and product development engineer (just graduated) and a service designer from the Basque Country that met each other in Copenhagen, DK, and decided to start designing and sewing by themselves.

We try to create beautiful and original products such as purses, laptop covers, bags... without forgetting functionality.

On the right there is an example of a laptop cover I did.
