OverviewDigital wallets offer convenience, ease of use and increased security. They help streamline the checkout process and increase completed transactions because consumers are able to skip lengthy checkout forms. Plus, fraud tools used by digital wallets help reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions. A win for shoppers and businesses alike!

Converge allows online businesses to offer four popular digital wallets for use on their Converge hosted payment pages or webpages using Checkout.js:

• Apple Pay®

• Masterpass™

• PayPal®

• Visa Checkout®

This guide shows you how to enable each digital wallet to use with Converge Buy Buttons, hosted payment pages and Checkout.js. More detailed information about integrating payment pages with your website can be found on the Elavon Developer Portal.

Apple PayApple Pay allows your customers using Apple devices – mobile phones, tablets or computers – to use Apple Pay to complete their online checkout. (Requires iOS 10 or MacOS Sierra versions or higher)

You need to enable Apple Pay to add it to your payment page. Apple Pay transactions are shown as credit card payments in Converge reports. Voids and refunds are handled just like any other credit card transaction in the Converge Payments dashboard.

For instructions on enabling Apple Pay with your mobile application, visit the Elavon Developer Portal to learn more about PaySDK.

NOTE: Currently, Charities in MCC/SIC code 8398 are unable to use Apple Pay unless they have written confirmation and approval from Apple.

Enabling Apple PayStep 1. Navigate to the Apple Pay on the Web Setup section.

Step 2. Click the Enable Apple Pay button.

Note: By enabling Apple Pay, you are agreeing to the Apple Pay Web Merchant Terms and Conditions.

Disabling Apple PayIf you ever want to disable Apple Pay, return to this section and click the Disable Apple Pay button.

Apple Pay Shopper Experience

Step 2. The Apple Pay window displays and shoppers authenticate by using their fingerprint or face recognition, depending on which device they’re using, and confirm payment.

Step 1. Rather than checking out with a credit card, which requires entering the card number and shipping and billing information, shoppers select the Buy with Apple Pay button.

MasterpassEnabling Masterpass on your payment page allows your customers to seamlessly checkout with any credit cards and shipping information stored in their Masterpass accounts.

Masterpass transactions are shown as credit card payments in Converge reports. Voids and refunds are handled like any other credit card transaction in the Converge Payments dashboard.

Masterpass is automatically enabled for new ecommerce accounts, and you can verify this by following these steps.

Enabling MasterpassTo verify Masterpass is enabled:

Step 1. Navigate to the Masterpass Setup section.

Step 2. Check for the Disable Masterpass button.

If enabled, you will have the option to disable Masterpass by clicking the button. You can do this at any time.

If for some reason your account isn’t enabled, follow the instructions to enable Masterpass.

Masterpass Shopper Experience

Step 1. Rather than checking out with a credit card, shoppers can select the Masterpass button.

Step 2. Shoppers will be instructed to sign in to Masterpass using their email or mobile number.

Step 3. Shoppers confirm the card they want to use and their shipping address (or add a new card or address).

Step 4. Shoppers then click Continue and are sent back to your website to complete their checkout.

PayPalEnabling PayPal on your payment page allows your customers to leverage their PayPal account and any payment method they have associated with it.

You need to enable PayPal to add it to your payment page.

PayPal is slightly different from the other digital wallets on Converge. Transactions are processed by PayPal, not Converge. Reporting, refunds, and voids are all done by logging into your PayPal account and performing those functions there.

Enabling PayPalStep 1. Navigate to the PayPal Setup section.

Step 2. Click the Sign Up through PayPal button to begin.

Step 3. Click Confirm to leave Converge and go to the PayPal website.


Enabling PayPalStep 4. Enter the email address associated with your PayPal account (or one you would like to use if you don’t already have an account) and select Next.

Step 5. Enter your password and log in. If you don’t have an existing PayPal account, follow the on-screen instructions to sign up.

Step 6. If successful, a confirmation message displays. Click the blue button to go back to Converge.

Step 7. Return to the PayPal Setup section to verify PayPal has been enabled. Note: You may need to log back in to Converge.


PayPal Shopper Experience Shoppers using your site will enjoy a streamlined checkout experience.

Step 1. Rather than checking out with a credit card, shoppers select the PayPal Checkout button.

Step 2. Shoppers are instructed to log in to their PayPal account.

Note: PayPal Credit follows the same PayPal login process. Using this option, shoppers can apply for PayPal credit and pay over time.

Step 3. Shoppers confirm the card they want to use and their shipping address.

Step 4. Shoppers then click Continue and are sent back to your website to complete their checkout.
