About Us

National Institute of Electronics & Information

Technology (NIELIT), (erstwhile DOEACC Society), was set up to carry out Human

Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information,

Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT).

NIELIT is engaged both in Formal & Non-Formal Education

in the area of IECT besides development of industry oriented quality education

and training programmes in the state-of-the-art areas. NIELIT has endeavored to

establish standards to be the country's premier institution for Examination and

Certification in the field of IECT. It is also one of the National Examination Body,

which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT in the non-

formal sector.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology – is

a Capacity Building arm of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

PAN India presence through a network of 35 own centres (Government) and a network of about 1100+ private accredited centres and about 8500+ private CCC/BCC facilitation centres engaged in digital literacy.

NIELIT qualifications are widely accepted by IT Industry at National as well as International level.

Objectives To Create Human Resource in the area of IECT through long term

formal , non-formal and short term courses.

To accreditate Training Institute in non-formal sector to conduct NIELIT

To conduct National Level Examination in Electronics, IT & allied fields

and Certification thereon.

To undertake Sponsored Training and R&D Projects.

To provide Consultancy Services.

To create awareness about IT by by providing training to masses

through NIELIT digital Literacy Programmes.

National Appreciations NIELIT qualifications are widely accepted by IT

Industry at National as well as International level. ‘O’ ‘A’ & ‘B’ level certificates are recognized by

Government of India as equivalent to ‘Foundation level’, ‘Advance Diploma’ and ‘MCA level’ respectively for the purpose of employment in Central Government services.

NIELIT ‘A’ and ‘B’ level holders are allowed to pursue higher studies in MSc(IT)/MSc(CS)/MCA and M.Tech respectively from many Universities of India.

To enhance India’s position as Global IT Hub and use IT as an engine to drive Indian Economy to ensure rapid, inclusive and sustainable growth.

Future Plans NIELIT has signed MoU with AICTE for alignment of NIELIT O &

A-Level courses with NVEQF on 26-Nov-2013. NIELIT has a plan of developing a pool of 1 million trained skilled

workforce on IECT by the year 2022, through various formal, non-formal and short term courses, to meet the domestic requirements as laid down in National Policy on IT .

Empowering Women of Rural India through Digital Literacy under Common Service Centers (CSC).
