Torm Mathilde Electrical Report

Power Management System The PMS have been tested, and at 90 % load the no. 1 standby DG starts. This has been tested on all generators. If no 1 standby doesnt start 2. standby starts up instead. This has been tested on all the generators. If the DG in service trips, no 1 standby will start up and take over. For easy use the PPUs have had a display installed

CO2 tripping systemThe lever for pump room, ECR and engine room has been pulled to insure every system that needs to trip would trip. There are no issues with this check, everything worked has it should. The wireing has also been checked and found to be in good condition.

Remote control Seachest ValvesThe valves have been tested, that in case of black out they will close, there are no issues with this. For further safety the power supply has been moved to the UPS plant and a insulation monitor has been installed.

Sound power telephonesThe sound power telephones have had the channels changed, and now all phones are connected as per drawings provided by chief engineer. This has been done in order for the bridge to be able to call the cargo manifolds and the pump room. There are still 2 issues remaining with this system: Channels 7 and 8 needs to be connected via a safety barrier to the telephones on deck, also the handset telephones on deck, are in bad condition and needs to be changed.

Ecdis installationThe signal cables for the ecdis are in good order, and the network cables are either cat 5e UTP or FTP, so thats also in good order. There is a Wireless router on the ecdis network, but you cannot access the internet via this router since the router is connected to the MDS computer. I still do recommend it to be switch to a switch without a wireless connection in order to protect the network completely. All the ecdis are connected to the emergency supply, and the monitoring ecdis has a UPS backup.Fuses have been placed on the supply for the GPS nmea buffer, to protect against overloads. There are no nmea buffers for the Gyro or the speedlog. The cables for the Ecdis have been labeled, for easy identification.

Survey

The cable has been penetrated through the hull, by a penetration block that is too big, also the block next to it is missing half. These blocks need to be replaced, and the cable needs to be moved to another block, that will fit the cable. Maybe if my suspicions are right this cable can be removed all together. The cable penetration is located in the BCC, to doors to the right of the monitoring ecdis.

Two cables have not been passed through cable penetration correctly, the cables need to be moved to fitting blocks, and the damaged blocks need to be replaced.I believe the cable to the left in the picture, is the same cable as mentioned in the pictures above. This cable is not connected and I believe it can be removed all together. The penetration is located in the 2nd cupboard to the right when entering the bridge, facing the BCC.

A cable has not been passed correctly through a cable penetration, this issue needs to be rectified. The penetration is full, so a new penetration needs to be made, and the cable needs to be pulled back in order to pass it through the new penetration. The penetration is located to the far left of the BCC.

This is another example of a cable not passed correctly through a penetration, the block needs to be replaced and fitted to the cable. The penetration is placed in the cupboard to the far left facing the BCC.

The penetration in these photos have not been closed, this issue needs to be addressed. The penetration is located in the cable trunk on C deck.Electrician has rectified this issue.

The terminal for this capacitor is in a bad condition, I recommend changing the capacitor. The junction box for this installation is located in the cable trunk on C Deck.Electrician has rectified this issue.

The terminal for this capacitor is in a bad condition, I recommend changing the capacitor. The junction box for this installation is located in the cable trunk on up. Deck.

To wires have been connected using tape in the no. 1 main air compressor circuit board, this is not acceptable. The issue has to be rectified either by using a press connector, or a proper terminal.

The penetration in Boiler 2 power panel needs to be re closed, in order to protect the cables from moving in the penetration and being damaged.

The terminal for this capacitor is in a bad condition, I recommend changing the capacitor. Also the wire has been burned over and needs to be repaired. The junction box for this installation is located in the forward.

The terminal blocks in this junction box has been damaged and replaced by poor substitute. New terminal block needs to be fitted to rectify the issue. The junction box for this installation is located in the forward.

Installation For the washing machine on C deck need to be fitted with a correct outlet, and then precautions taken so the cable doesnt get damaged.

The power cable for the switch en the computer room needs to be fixed to the wall.

Cable penetration needs to be correctly closed. Shrinking cable needs to be removed and then sealed with putty. This is an issue in top and bottom penetration in the cable trunk on B deck and A deck, and the top penetration on upp. deck.Electrician has rectified this issue.

Penetration needs to be closed, location is in the cable trunk on A deck.

Penetrations in the cable trunks in the accomedation needs to be correctly sealed from the bottom.

Roxtech penetration needs new blocks, and be correctly closed. Location is in the cable trunk on upp. deck.
