El CAMINO COLLEGE VETERANS SERVICES Steps to Obtain Your VA Educational Benefits The VA will only pay for courses required to obtain an AA/AS Degree,Transfer Major or Certificate. Majors/Certificates must be in the El Camino College Catalog. VA will not pay for Contemporary Health 1 (CH-1), except for Dependents under Chapter 35. Post 9/11, Chapter 33 - a Veteran must be enrolled at more than one-half time to qualify for the applicable portion of Monthly Housing Allowance (BAH). Post 9/11, Chapter 33 - Individuals only enrolled in distance learning courses (online classes) will be eligible for a Monthly Housing Allowance equal to 50% of the national average of all Basic Allowances for Housing. Post 9/11, Chapter 33 - Pick up Slip from Veterans Office in order to purchase Parking Permit. VA FORM 22-5490 (For Dependents using Chapter 35) VA FORM 22-5495 (For Dependents who are transferring from another College) STEP 3 Submit the following Documents to our Office Certificate of Eligibility Award Letter (COE) DD-214 Release Form (Member 4) DD-2384 Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) for Reservist Request for Certification of Enrollment Student Information Bulletin Responsabilities of the Veteran or Dependent Veterans Educational Plan Completed by a Counselor. You must provide transcripts from other schools you have attended.
