• You most certainly have heard - over the years - the United States lags considerably behind the rest of the world when it comes to academic ranking.
• This is the site that keeps track of such things.

• If you go there you will find [t]hat the Chicago Collar County suburbs were tired of hearing the same thing so they wanted to see how their little enclave compared to the rest of the world

• So they had the official testing site (for comparative analysis of the countries of the
world) create a fictional “country” with them being the “residents” therein.

• What did they find?

• They did the testing as a fictitious country and sure enough they ranked very high and actually led the world in several categories including AP-Calculus.
• But, exactly why was this so?

• What processes drove the “fake country” Chicago suburb group to achieve such undisputed success making them number one?

Because of these undisputed results; an exhaustive analysis was undertaken to see if it was due to;
• “socio-economics”;• “wealthy families;• “nuclear family
integrity/values”

It was none of those.
In fact, those particular factors combined had less than a 25% standard correlation coefficient (r<25%).
Well if not wealth, family status, or socio-economic advantage…

What did drive the success?

The exhaustive studies and data showed there were two platforms that separated this Chicago-suburb “country” from the rest of the world.

instruction and 2. Technology driven
educational platforms…
This is exactly where the EETT grant is taking all of us in Illinois.
