The New Educational Visits Guide 2012 There’s never been a better time to advertise! Here at Elmtree Press, our team has been very busy over the past few months developing the Educational VisitsGuide for 2012 and creating an exciting new website www.educationalvisitsuk.com to help teachers and group leaders plan their trips.

With over 21 years experience in the schools market, we understand that many group organisers have limited time to search for information, soour mission is to make Educational Visits UK THE place to come to find all the details needed to plan a trip. With this in mind we have introduceda new section for group accommodation both within the guide itself and on our website.

The Guide.... We continue to work in conjunction with local education authorities throughout the country ensuring our guides find their way toevery school in England and Wales including the independent sector and numerous youth group organisers. An unrivalled distribution serviceyou’re unlikely to get anywhere else. Despite the increase in print and distribution prices this year we are pleased to say that our prices remainextremely competitive so whatever your budget, advertising with us can help you promote yourself to this very important market.

The Website....We now have additional facilities online where group leaders can leave reviews of places they’ve visited helping others to plan theirtrips. Additionally there are new options for promoting your attraction including banner adverts; featuring as an attraction of the month on ourhome page or using our services to specifically target teachers and group leaders regarding a special event or educational workshop. Throughout2012 we will be running competitions and targeting teachers through social media to help promote the website, events and places to visit or staywhich will in turn help boost our site in search engines.

Benefits of advertising with Educational Visits UK: A Well Established and Trusted Guide – we distribute 37,000 free of charge copies to schools, youth groups and scouting & guiding

groups throughout the UK.

Ranked No. 1 on Google – search for Educational Visits and our site is the 1st unsponsored entry.

Newsletters – We keep our users updated with termly newsletters, so why not promote your business further and feature in one of our articles?

Events – Anything exciting coming up? Promote your events free throughout the year on our website.

Reviews – Add reviews from schools and groups who have visited you. This will not only help you attract more visitors to your website but help boost you in the search engines.

New for 2012 – We are offering a new service to save you valuable time and money – let us collect reviews from your school visits for honest, independent feedback to help you improve your business.

I have enclosed a copy of the 2011 guide; to see the new designs for 2012 please go to http://issuu.com/elmtree/docs/educationalvisits2012If you have any queries or want to discuss your requirements with a member of our team then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

1. This bookOver the years this guide has evolved into theformat you see before you, both in physical sizeand in the way the information is containedwithin. We’ve split the country into 5 regionsgeographically, and each of those regions hasits own section of the guide (distinguished by arange of colours). In each you’ll find a mapshowing the locations of the variousattractions, all of which are assigned a number, and then in the pages that follow listed underthat number there’s loads of information, pictures and contact details for each one!

This structure is great, because if you’replanning to visit more than one place, then youcan see at a glance what other attractions arenearby. The maps are also handy for thosestruggling for ideas of where to take a trip, butif you already know the name of the placeyou’re looking to visit you can use thealphabetical index atthe back of the guideto find it. The indexshows what subjectsare covered by eachattraction throughthe use of a simpleset of symbols.

2. www.educationalvisitsuk.comOur recently updated website has a clear, attractive modern format. The search facilitymakes it simple and easy to find attractions byname, region, type of attraction or by keywords featured in the entry, such as thesubjects covered. Accommodations can befound by area or name and are also listed oneach Attraction tab.

Every attraction and accommodation featuredin print is online, with direct links to theirwebsites for further information.

One of the main advantages that the websiteprovides is that it’s continually updatedthroughout the year. This ensures that if thereare any alterations or changes to opening timesor entrance fees for instance, then theattractions can amend their details on thewebsite immediately to reflect the changes. They also have the ability to list upcomingevents and special offers for each month usingthe What’s On facility so it’s worth checking

3. E-newsletterOur e newsletter is sent out termly to allschools and youth groups on our database.Attractions and Accommodation Providers can

use this to promote events orto write informative articles.See overleaf for more details.
