Bioiogiul Psychology 19 (1984) 77 North-Holland EDITORIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: REPORTING OF STATISTICS In order to achieve some standardization, two procedures are available for reporting statistics. First, some authors may wish to report p values as has been the custom, whereas others may wish to state a rejection region at the beginning of the Results section and omit p values thereafter. If this procedure is adopted, however, mean square error (MSe) values should also be stated. If the first procedure is adopted, the textual mode of reporting an F-ratio, for example, is: (F(1, 36) = 5.97, p -C 0.05) and if the second procedure is adopted, it is: (F(1, 36) = 5.97, MSe = 0.04). In both cases, but particularly in the first, indices of varibility should be included elsewhere in the text, tables or figures. 0301-0511/84/$3.00 0 1984, Elsevier Science Publishers B.V. EDITORIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: REPORTING OF STATISTICS

In order to achieve some standardization, two procedures are available for reporting statistics.
