Dear Readers!
Greetings from Annammal College of Education for
Women, Thoothukudi. On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Year,
we take pride and deem it an honour and privilege to publish the IQAC
newsletter which focuses the academic journey we have successfully
completed in the academic year 2011-12.
PUBLIC SPEAKING PRACTICE
Public speaking can be a nerve-racking experience for students and we
help them to develop confidence to speak before an audience through Public
Speaking Practice given to them. Our hostel quadrangle is the stage where
students practice speaking in Tamil and English. After the college hours
special arrangements are made to make students speak before a limited
audience. The language teachers ensure that the students feel comfortable to
speak in the following ways:
The teachers give useful tips on diffusing anxiety while speaking
The students are free to talk on any topic of their own choice
Flexible timings are provided to students for practice
Opportunities are provided to students to showcase their oratory
skills
CALLIGRAPHY CLASSES
The magical touch of an expressive hand in terms of beautiful
handwriting is a much desired quality for those who aspire to become
teachers. Having understood this we arrange calligraphy classes for our
trainees. We train them to write on the black board, charts and records
flawlessly. We teach them cursive writing and we try to help our
students present their answers in a better way on the answer sheets. We
invite experts from outside for calligraphy classes. They teach our
students to use flat tip pens and bamboo pens. A handwriting board has
been positioned in the corridor to encourage our students to refine their
blackboard writing.
