Entrepreneurship in Finnish Education
System
Entrepreneurship education is a much larger concept than entrepreneurship in the exercise of the profession of entrepreneurship and comprises the following
active and self-imposed individual
entrepreneurial learning environment
collaboration in a network that supports education and entrepreneurship
social policy that advances active and entrepreneurial activity
entrepreneurship education establishes entrepreneurship in everybody and everywhere
education in entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship education is part of life-long learning
capability of life management, interaction and leading oneself
capability to innovate and face change
Purpose of education is to advance entrepreneurship becoming a mode of operation
In primary education positive attitudes, basic knowledge and competencies in entrepreneurship as well as entrepreneurial modes of operation are emphasised
In secondary and higher education knowledge and comptences are deepend and advancing practical skills in entreprenurship are included in the education
Entrepreneurial operation culture realises itself in collaboration with the surrounding environment
The aim is that the learner considers it easy to operate in the future employment market either as an entrepreneur or working for somebody else

Yes 80%, a lot of variation but mainly following the budget
No 20% , a lot of variation but mainly little knowledge
Are people in your unit aware of various funding opportunities?
Yes 36%, a lot of variation from just the budget to many projects
No 64%, poor knowledge of opportunities
What kind of practices are there for the mobilization and optimization of resources in your unit?
A lot variation but mainly
resources come from local central administration
budget is presented and discussed and agreements made in meetings
in some unit(s) proactive efforts for external funding
Suggestions for further development
Strengthening community involvement, focus on merging two schools, further developing acquisition of external resources
