Long Island reached the 7 million fan mark faster than any other team in league history despite having begun play in the ALPB’s third year of existence (2000). Tuesday’s crowd of 6,863 was the Ducks’ sixth past -capacity crowd of the year and league-record 669th sold out crowd all-time. The Ducks lead the league in attendance this year at 5,145 fans per game. Squish the ‘Fish: Tonight marks the 13th meeting of the season and 345th all- time meeting between the Ducks and Bluefish. The Ducks lead the all-time series 173-171 and have a 95-76 advantage at Bethpage Ballpark. Long Island also leads the 2017 season series 7-5 and has taken five of eight games in Bridgeport. The Ducks have won the Ferry Cup five of eight times since its inception in 2009 (‘09, ‘11, ‘13, ‘14, ‘16). On the Marc: With a 2-for-5 performance on Saturday, Marc Krauss continued his recent stretch of hot hitting. The former big leaguer has hit safely in 14 straight games, the longest hitting streak by a Ducks batter this season. During the stretch, Krauss is hitting .510 (25-for-49) with 17 R, 7 2B, 3B, 7 HR, 19 RBIs and 10 BB. The OF/1B has home runs in six of his last 10 games, multiple hits in seven of his last nine and multiple RBIs in in five of his last 10. Michael-Angelo: Long Island OF/1B Angelo Songco extended his current hitting streak to seven games with a first inning homer last night. After getting off to a slow start out of the All-Star break, Songco is hitting .310 (9-for-29) during his current outburst, complimented by 7 R, 2 2B, 4 HR and 10 RBIs. He has RBIs in six straight games, and has logged one extra-base hit in six of his last seven. This comes after collecting just one XBH in a 14-game stretch from 7/2-7/21. Air Jordan: Ducks C/1B Jordan Pacheco had a mammoth 4-for-6 day on Satur- day, and has now reached base safely in 11 straight games and 14 of his last 15. In that 15-game stretch, Pacheco is batting a torrid .406 (24-for-59) with 10 R, 8 2B, 2 HR and 14 RBIs. The MLB veteran has raised his on-base percentage from .232 to .352 in that span. One Down, One Up: Beginning with a 7-2 loss at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on July 8, the Long Island Ducks have been alternating wins and losses for 15 games. The three-week-old pattern has seen the Ducks hover around the .500 mark for the season. The Ducks won Saturday night, but have not won two games in a row since July 4 and 5 against Lancaster, and haven’t won three in a row since sweeping Southern Maryland to end the first half from June 30-July 2 at Bethpage Ballpark. 1:12 p.m. | The Ballpark at Harbor Yard (5,300) | Bridgeport, Conn. Long Island struck for three runs in the top of the first inning against Bridgeport starter Mike Aquilino. Jordan Pacheco opened the scoring with an RBI double and came around to score on a two-run homer from Angelo Songco. The blast was Songco’s 19 th of the season. The Bluefish answered back with a run in the bottom of the first against Ducks righty John Brownell, with D’Arby Myers stealing third and coming home on an errant throw. That was the only blemish against Brownell (8-2) in his five innings of work, in which he yielded one run on five hits, striking out five and not issuing a walk. In the top of the second, Pacheco extended the Ducks lead to 6-1 with a bases-loaded, three- run double to right center off Aquilino (0-1). The Bridgeport righty threw 114 pitches in 3.2 innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, walking five and striking out one. Marc Krauss extended his hitting streak to 14 games with an RBI double in the fourth, and Songco added a third RBI with a ninth-inning single off Angel Rosa, which extended the Ducks lead to 11-1. Alfredo Simon allowed just two hits in the game’s final four innings, striking out three to close out the win. By virtue of throwing four frames, Simon was credited with his first save of the season, and has now allowed just one earned run in 10 innings out of the bullpen. Every batter in the Ducks lineup reached base, with eight of nine batters reaching safely multiple times. Six Long Island batters had multi-hit games, with Pacheco leading the way going 4-for-6 with two doubles and four RBIs. NOTABLE NUGGETS

LAST TIME OUT: Henderson Alvarez made his second start of the season on July 25 against the Sugar Land Skeeters and got no decision. The righty allowed one unearned run to score on four hits in four innings, striking out one and not walking a batter. After not having pitched against live competition until this month, Alvarez was only slated to last four frames, despite pitching effectively. HEY NOW, YOU’RE AN ALL-STAR: Alvarez earned a Major League All-Star selection during the 2014 season, representing the National League at Target Field in Minneapolis. Though he did not appear in the game, he was teammates with current Ducks pitcher Alfredo Simon on the NL All-Star roster. Alvarez posted a 12-7 record with a 2.65 ERA and three complete games in 30 starts during the 2014 campaign as a member of the Miami Marlins. His three complete games led the NL, and he totaled the most wins of any Marlins pitcher that year. HISTORY IN MIAMI: On the final day of the 2013 season, Alvarez tossed a no-hitter for the Marlins. The righty threw nine scoreless and hitless innings against the Detroit Tigers, outdueling Justin Verlander in the process. He allowed just three baserunners on a walk, a hit by pitch and an error while striking out four, and he needed just 99 pitches to complete the outing. However, he did not clinch the no-no until the bottom of the ninth when Giancarlo Stanton scored from third base on a wild pitch thrown by Luke Putkonen.

PITCHER TIDBITS Alvarez was originally signed as an international free agent by the Toronto

Blue Jays in 2007.

Spent two seasons in the Major Leagues with the Blue Jays (2011-12) and

three seasons with the Marlins (2013-15).

Selected to consecutive MLB Futures Games in 2011 and 2012.

Earned three straight Mid-Season All-Star honors from 2009 to 2011 in the

Midwest League, Florida State League and Eastern League, respectively.

Part of a 12-player trade in November of 2012 that saw him traded by the

Blue Jays along with Anthony DeSclafani, Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavar-ria, Jake Marisnick, Jeff Mathis and Justin Nicolino to the Marlins for Emilio Bonifacio, John Buck, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes and cash.
