Drafts and Final CoversAnalysis

Page 2: Drafts and final

The greatest aspect about this is the text, as you can see I have used this throughout my products as I feel that the text links to my ‘indie’ genre. The text ‘BRAINFLOWER’ gives the cover a personal touch due to the link to handwriting.

The quality of these is very poor; taken straight from the video makes the products loose the authentic design.

Despite the text being a good design the quality still lacks the professional look and once more makes the product seem rushed.

Both the images are stretched which gives them an amateur look.

The text doesn’t match that of the titles which makes the song list look distant from the rest of the cover

Despite having a lot of criticism I feel the images used still put across the laid back feeling of the songs on the album and I believe the idea of ‘Pathetic Fallacy’ is put across in the images

The images have been taken out of the video but in an amateur way, this also makes the product designer short for resources

The obvious down point to these two images is the different text used on different covers. In doing this it separates the products from one and other and doesn't represent them as a whole

Both the images are of good quality which gives off a professional vibe

The lack of a barcode makes the cover seem less authentic

The contrast in images is a good point, it shows a contrast but still links due to the positioning of focus points

The text overlaps the main image and looses the symmetrical value in which is needed to show a sense of good quality

The change of night and day shows perhaps two different sides to every story or maybe even how feelings can change

The use of no CD spine makes the album seem like just two separate images and does not join them together

Page 4: Drafts and final

The CD spine is a good middle point between the covers, with the colour not focusing on either side of the cover and holding a balanced colour also allows the images to come as one.

The arrangement of wording around the tree is a brilliant feature it still allows the image to be fully shown and the focus stays on the tree which is key to the image

The text on the spine could be darker

The contrast in images once more works well, as well as the contrast in colour of text.

The arrangement of the song tracks allows the central image to be shown. This links the two covers together as well as showing the beauty of the image

The layout of the image (i.e. The space between the main focus, the sky line) reinforce the idea that the image is the tree on fire

The text is clearly set out and easily visible

The barcode gives the cover an authentic feel

The joint use of text links the images together

The contrasting of colours to their backgrounds allows the text to be easily visible
