• Students spend 8 hours a day in classroom buildings and on campus. • Facility managers are faced with sustainability issues every day in the way
they manage and operate the built environment. • Learn about opportunities for buildings and faculty to meet in the middle
to educate students about environmental stewardship. • Illustrations are given in energy, water, materials, waste management,
and site impact. • Brainstorm ideas you can use in your classroom!
National Environmental Education Foundation
1. Permit: granting students permission to become involved in sustainability initiatives.
2. Educate & engage: providing students educational materials and engaging them in sustainability activities.
3. Act: empowering students to take action at school, as well as at home and in their community.

Example:
