What is a rubric?
A rubric combines assessment criteria with grading standards
A rubric is more than just a rating scale, because a rubric will
describe the differences between performance at each level.
How can rubrics help?
• Clarify expectations
• Communicate expectations
• Simplify grading
• Support consistency of grading
• Provide feedback and feedforward
• Self assessment
• Peer assessment
