SMART Education• SMART IS Flexible learning in an interactive learning

environment. (Example of the Mongolian kid and the top 400 students in Prof. Thrun’s Artificial Intelligence class who were not in Stanford).

• SMART IS Accessing world class digital content via online education sites. Online learning resources for students everywhere .

• SMART IS Sharing digital teaching resources across

India and the world

3

Smart Education System• SMART IS Delivering education through different devices – from

televisions to ipods to mobile phones to notebooks – beyond our schools and into homes.

• SMART IS A digital learning portfolio that gives students, teachers and parents a total view of a student’s progress and needs.

• SMART IS Online real time testing and analysis.

• SMART IS Network-based collaboration among and between countries to share their ideas and create new knowledge – a You Tube for educators!

• Cities having world class technical universities have right next door savvy investors who have created technology giants like Google, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft to whom we owe lot of our productivity and fun.

How?

Engage our students…• with interactive curriculum and learning

resources and programs to rekindle an interest in science, and online learning.

Empower teachers and administrators…• with smarter system-wide administration,

content sharing and development tools and educational communities.

Skill India• India needs to improve elementary education to move

ahead in the digital era, and citizens need to adapt to change.

• Prime Minister Modi launched "Skill India" to provide training and skill development for 500 million Indian youth by 2020.

• Indian government to frame new education policy to provide maximum and easy access to better education to all sections of society

• India's online education market is expected to be US$ 40 billion by 2017. The demand for online education learning in the K-12 segment, and advancements in technology to support this new way of education

Smart Solutions

• Application of Smart Solutions will enable cities to use technology, information and data to improve infrastructure and services. Comprehensive development in this way will improve quality of life, create employment and enhance incomes for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged, leading to inclusive Cities.

3 Core Areas for Technologically Advanced City

1. Improving technical education at all levels – from primary schools to tertiary and advanced education, inculcating curiosity in our youth.

2. Creating an Ecosystem for ideas, incubation and venture investment- ideas alone in a lab do not drive improvement, they have to be incubated, made commercially feasible and taken to market in a way that creates economic value. All technology hubs in the world be it San Francisco or New York, London or Berlin, Singapore or Shanghai have a vibrant venture capital ecosystem.

3. An involved citizenry that is passionate about technology and its impact in the world. For example Massive Open Online Courses(MOOC) have disrupted how we educate ourselves.

RURAL OUTREACH• The main objective of this program is to sensitize

students about the socio-cultural aspects of the rural areas parochial to their colleges.

• Students are expected to observe, investigate and learn about the following aspects of the rural region: i. Demographics, Literacy, Geographical parameters of

the Village .ii. Schemes of government of India and State of

Madhya Pradesh in operation in the villages.

iii. Social/ Cultural aspects ranging from popular dance forms, music and customs of the concerned village .

Page 9: Dr Manish Chaubey, Director, Gyan Ganga College

9

Ethics & Values• In most educational institutions, there is a total lack of the

concept of human development and nation building in the education process.

• Concrete action has to be taken of framing curricula and development and adaptation of innovative methods to inculcate values and ethics in children. The emphasis instead is on moneymaking and materialism. This has resulted in the gradual erosion of values among peopleand the body politic.”

• The only way to arrest this decline is in providing value-orientation in our educational system thru Rural outreach programs.

Smart EducationA Smart, multi-disciplinary student-centric education system –

linked across schools, tertiary institutions and workforce training, using:

• Adaptive learning programs and learning portfolios for students • Collaborative technologies and digital learning resources for

teachers and students . Kids from under privileged backgrounds can now access what is being taught in MIT, Harvard and Stanford just by having sufficiently fast Internet.

• All technology hubs in the world be it San Francisco or New York, London or Berlin, Singapore or Shanghai have a vibrant venture capital ecosystem .

ADVANCED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM IN CITY JABALPUR

• EMERGENCY SYSTEM- We have created a new concept regarding to passing of high priority vehicle from high traffic areas in less time.

• HEAVY WEIGHT SENSING SYSTEM- For detection of heavy illegal vehicle entries in city during wrong time (Heavy traffic).

• TRAFFIC BASED DIVERSION SYSTEM- It is a system to diverse traffic to sub route when needed.

• LDR SYSTEM- Implementation of automated light poles to minimize the accidents due to low intensity of light. It will automatically on during sunset.

• AUTOMATED RAILWAY CROSSINGS- For betterment against traffic jam caused due to time consumed for controlling railway crossings manually.

14

PROPER PARKING FOR VARIOUS COMMERCIAL AREAS IN JABALPUR

• These ideas are mainly based on some provisions, road maps, proper parking space based on different locations, different days and different time.

• Parking Spaces can be allotted on Odd-Even Dates Basis so that the parking space is organized.

• Sensor Based Parking Management System which indicates the vacant space for parking.

Locus Jabalpur- emergency application

• Locus Jabalpur is an utility application which works on android platform. Keeping in mind the city and its need we have developed an application which is user friendly and easy to use and download. Locus Jabalpur provides the contacts and addresses of Hospitals, Police Stations, Fuel Stations and Food Junctions of eight prominent Localities of Jabalpur like sadar, gorakhpur, vijaynagar, Medical, Garha etc.

Uneven Roads and pothole detection

Knowledge on the road condition could be a useful information for driver

safety applications. Especially in developing geographies the road conditions

may not be very driver friendly. Identifying the road humps and potholes may

help in better decision making by drivers. Vision sensors could help in

achieving this.Sensor : Vision (single color camera)1. Identify the road humps with and without zebra crossings on the hump2. Detect the potholes on the road in the drive way.3. The detection should happen before the vehicle reaches 10 mts from the

hump / pothole

Gathering Head count in an Emergency

• In today’s world we have multistoried buildings/apartments, stadiums, tech parks, malls where many people visit daily. But there is minimal or none precise automated mechanism to count the number of people inside a premises in case of an emergency situation.

• Develop a way to count number of people inside a premises at any point of time. In case of an emergency it should suggest the location of person in danger inside the premises and if possible recognize them and send the alerts to central server or emergency stations.

Intelligent Energy Management Solutions for Buildings

Energy savings in Buildings is need of the hour. There is immense potential to do the same using Software and Data models / Analytics like Intelligent decision support system using real time data, Energy retrofits, Demand Response solutions, Analytical tools which can identify opportunities to save energy.

• Define ONE use case providing all details of scope required to understand the Solution.

• Consider appropriate data sources (sensors), attributes, sample / real data etc. The solution should have good Techno economic feasibility. Also, provide a sample workout.

• The use case shall enable savings through Reducing Operations Cost or Improving Productivity or Improving Reliability.

Connected machines in IoT

• A future where everything is connected and everyday items have the built-in intelligence connected to talk to each other over internet. Computer chips in cars, buildings and everyday items such as clothes, accessories, watches and fridges are creating a world where objects can talk to one another digitally. This is the internet of things, the internet of everything, where billions of devices can hook up.

Select common or oblivious daily life devices (few listed below) which affects every human being, apply M2M connectivity concept and demonstrate the benefits to the end-user. Vehicles on the road Appliances and gadgets at home Equipment and devices in a hospital
