Welcome back to term 2. This term is an extremely busy term and will go quickly
with the many public holidays throughout the term. Please keep your eye out for
key dates on the Website and QParents as well as in the newsletter to ensure you
don’t miss out.
As winter approaches school uniform matters arise in relation to jumpers and
warmer clothing in general. Please ensure your child/ children are wearing jumpers
and tracksuit pants aligned to the school uniform. I have seen many haircuts after the
holiday period that also do not fit the dress code. Please consider that holidays are
only a short period of time and haircuts that are not appropriate for school may not
have time to grow out.
I am still seeing many of our parents cross the road in areas that do not have a
crossing and many of our students are copying. Late last term I received a call from a
concerned citizen that many students were also crossing at the main road where
there was no crossing and that two were almost hit by a car. I ask you to be vigilant
and set the example for our students.
The Walking School Bus will not be running this term. This relies very heavily on the
generosity of teachers giving their time and unfortunately our staff are committed to
breakfast club and unable to sustain both. We apologise for any inconvenience this
may cause.
We are looking forward to a great term and working with you to ensure an
enjoyable term.

Welcome back! Last term our students worked hard on establishing routines and expectations at
WoodLinks, particularly around what it means to be safe.
This term our behaviour focus is around what it means to have a growth mindset. Our students will
spend time learning about topics such as empathy and resilience and developing their skills in managing
their emotions both In and out of the classroom. Our lessons begin this week with an introduction to
growth mindset self-talk.
Don’t forget to check in with your students throughout the term as we continue to LEARN,
CHANGE and DEVELOP!

Do you struggle to find the funds for Excursions / Incursions / SRS?
Do you receive Centrelink Payments?
If so: are you aware that you can set up a deduction from your Centrelink fortnightly payments to
come to the school? If you are interested in finding out more or how to set up this deduction please
come into the office. We are also awaiting discussion with the P&C to see if it can include Uniforms
and book packs (obviously a credit amount would be required before being able to use these funds
for this).
