The cottage is located on South Shore Drive 50 feet from the water. It is situated less than a mile
from M75 heading into the Village of Walloon. The hills of the North Shore provide a spectacular
view, day and night, added with the ever changing color of the water. The view can be seen from the
screened in front porch or the side deck. Both are provided with table and chairs for relaxing. In
addition the porch has a glider where you can sip your coffee while admiring the view. There is also
a rear patio with a grill for barbeques. The new dock has a sun deck with lounge chairs. From the
dock you can swim to the swim raft for additional sun bathing. Dockage available for your boat.
The kitchen and separate dining room are light and airy. The kitchen is fully equipped with
dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. There
are three bedrooms off the main hallway. A queen size bed is in the first room with a bathroom,
shower and washer/dryer. The second and third bedrooms have two twin beds each and a separate

For the summer of 2016, my cottage is available for renting from June 25-July 2 and from July
30 - August 13 at a weekly rate of $2,000. All other times are spoken for.
My cottage is nestled less than 100 feet from the lake at water level, which makes it easy to
watch kids at the active shoreline. A maximum of 7 people is allowed. No pets and no smoking
on the premises.
The main floor consists of a large living/dining room, a side game/reading room, a half bathroom
and a thoroughly modern kitchen. upstairs are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: master bedroom
with queen size bed and bathroom with shower; another bedroom with twin beds; a 3rd bedroom
sleeping only one person; and a bathroom with shower/bathtub. The back guest house includes a
bedroom with twin beds, bath with shower and a small anteroom with table and 2 oversized
chairs.
Amenities include a dock (no boats), large front/side deck, washer/dryer. Quite intentionally
there is no tv.
Renter is expected to bring own sheets and towels.

Typical arrival is 4:00 p.m.; cottage is to be vacated by 9:00 a.m. of the last day to facilitate cleaning

Walloon Lake itself is a traditional resort lake with mostly family summer homes. It is centrally
located for resort area sightseeing, summer festivals, day trips, sports, and shopping. It is 80
miles to Traverse City, or Sault St. Marie and the Soo Locks; 45 miles to the Mackinac Bridge,
Mackinac Island, St. Ignace; 20 miles to Charlevoix or Harbor Springs; 9 miles to Petoskey and
Lake Michigan; 7 miles to Boyne City or Boyne Mountain. There are two dozen area golf
courses, a fly-fishing resort, great lakes charter fishing or sailing, horse riding, art galleries, book
stores, mini-breweries, truly world-class shopping and restaurants (most are casual). There is a
water-slide park and a zip line in Boyne City, and Petoskey has casino.
