elcomeWOn behalf of Splash! Publications, we would like to welcome you to First Grade Daily Language Practice, a daily practice and assessment program covering all 23 of the First Grade Common Core Language Standards.
The Format We’ve created four Core Practice Cards and one Core Test for each of the 23 Common Core Language Standards.
Each Core Practice Card and the Core Test list the Core Standard as student-friendly “I Can” statements, so the students can clearly see which standard they are practicing and being tested on.
We suggest that you use the Core Practice Cards as practice or bell work Monday-Thursday, and administer the Core Test on Friday for a grade.
Note: Some of the 1st Grade Language concepts may be new for your students. If you are in need of a complete content-based unit that teaches and practices each 1st Grade concept in isolation, take a look at our First Grade Common Core Language Unit.
“I Can” Posters We’ve created a separate fi le with 28 full color “I Can” Posters to match the Common Core Language Standards. These posters are designed so that you can project the images and sample sentences onto your White Board, or print them out and hang them in your classroom. The posters will make it easier for students to make connections to each Common Core Concept.

Answer Pages and RubricsAnswers to all of the Practice Cards and Tests can be found at the end of the Unit. We’ve created rubrics for every writing task to make your job of grading a bit easier.
