According to the Berkeley study "TactileCommunication, Cooperation and Performance:An Ethological Study of the NBA," Michael Kraus,
Cassy Huang and Dacher Keltner found thatsuccessful teams were more touchy on the court.
Keltner found that the teams thatmade more contact with each otherwere helping out more on defense,setting more screens, and overall
playing more efficiently andcooperatively.
This all aligns with Watson’sphilosophy of preaching trust, family
and selflessness to his team.

Michelle’s in her 50’s. Her motherdied from cancer when she was
young. Her father and grandparentsare also all gone now. She’s been
through a divorce and has been laidoff from a few jobs in the past.
She also lost a friend on 9/11. Sheworks for herself now, with no
salary and only makes money whena customer hires her.
Who would you want to motivate?
Michelle is in her 50’s. She has threebeautiful daughters from two
marriages. Her family membershave all experienced success in
business and one is even retired at50 years old due to their financialearnings. Michelle is physicallyactive, has lots of friends and a
busy social life. She is well knownin her community and field of work.
