8th & 9th Grade students enrolled at NISD may apply by December 18, 2015. http://tinyurl.com/onjp95g.To be accepted to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University program students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 at the end of their freshman year and maintain that acceptable level throughout the life of the program. All Tarrant County College students must be TSI met in Math, Reading and Writing or meet an exemption. (Please see http://tinyurl.com/p4p97qp for more info on the TSI.)

All students who enter the program as either freshman or sophomores must take the entry level course Foundations of Aviation for high school credit. This class does not cost money nor does it count for college credit. This course will help you decide which pathway best suits your career pursuits and if this academy is right for you.

The first course is free so you will not have to pay for courses until either the sophomore or junior year. Upon which, payments will be made directly to TCC or ERAU depending on the course option you have chosen.

These are academically rigorous college courses. Students are encouraged to put fourth their greatest efforts. Students not meeting academic acceptability will be put on probation for one semester. If they do not achieve academic acceptable status then they will go through a review process and are subject to removal from the program.

All ERAU courses are taught at V.R. Eaton by a credentialed instructor. TCC courses will be taught at the Alliance campus by a credentialed Tarrant County College instructor. NISD will provide transportation for students that need it.
