ANGER MANAGEMENT COUNSELLING
AND RESOURCES
ANGER MANAGEMENT
Anger is a feeling, just as sadness, fear, happiness and worry
are all feelings. People tend to feel angry when their rights
have been violated or, when someone has caused them harm.
Often people feel angry but may not know why, their family and
friends may just experience them as being explosive and un-
predictable. Often the cause of anger is long forgotten but they
react angrily out of habit when they experience stress.
If this is the case for you, it is important that you learn more
about your anger and how to express your anger in a safe way,
not towards the people or objects around you. It is important
to distinguish anger, which is a feeling, from violence which is
a behaviour.
If you are behaving violently you may be tempted to believe
that this is because you have a problem with anger. The cause
of violence is much more complex, and it is important that you
seek suitable help so you can stop damaging your relation-
ships and hurting the people you care about.
If you are having difficulties it may be helpful to :
Find out more about your anger.
Are there particular feelings or memories you feel angry
about but have been unable to resolve, or patterns to your
anger?
Do what you can to address the original cause of your
anger and try to understand what the triggers are.
When you know the types of situations in which you get
angry, you can think about different ways of dealing with
your anger (eg. exercise, relaxing to music, learning
about meditation) and,
It may be helpful to discuss your anger with a Counsellor
who has a good understanding of this issue.
How do you qualify?
To qualify to receive grocery’s from The Pantry you
simply need to get your case manager to refer you
to The Pantry. Then we can set you up with some
lovely bags of groceries every week.
What’s happening?
We are currently creating our own cookbook filled
with delicious easy to cook meals. Each recipe uses
ingredients that the pantry supplies helping individu-
als and families to create low cost delicious meals.
This cookbook will be given to all of our clients for
free with their pantry pack when its completed.
One of the many participants at The Pantry has re-
cently had their own recipe for soup added to the
ACspresSO café menu. This is a Pumpkin soup
made with delicious fresh ingredients every day. It’s
a great and scrumptious way to warm yourself up
on a cold winters day.
